The New Girl

Cara's POV

I waved goodbye to Brit and her mum then started up the car. I set off back onto the main road and all I could think about was Brit. I think I'm in love with this girl. I had been driving around for an hour or so now going to places I've never been before. I decided to set off back home so I moved into the inside lane and got ready to through the junction. As I came up to the junction out of no where this car came speeding round the corner skidding. I tried to move out the way but this car was going too fast. The car slammed into the side of my car nose first then spun and landed on top of my car. It crushed my car and myself flat. I tried to move but I couldn't. I had glass in my skin all over and there was blood pouring out my body. All I could think was that if I die I never got to say good bye to Brit. And she's already lost half her family. And now me. I reached for my phone and texted Brit "I love you so much I'm so sorry" She replied instantly with "I love you so much too why are you sorry?" I tried to type but I couldn't I started to loose consciousness. She had seen that I had read it and not replied and she kept on sending me messages. The last thing I remember was seeing a message 'Baby don't do this please please say something I love you' I blacked out. The next thing I knew I was in a hospital with doctors pulling stuff out of me and putting stuff in saying a bunch of words I don't understand. Lord help me.

Brits POV

I woke up in the night by my phone. Cara had texted me, it's not like her to be on her phone so late so I opened my phone. She said 'I love you so much I'm so sorry.' I replied instantly and she read it instantly but there was no reply. I kept on sending her messages and she was reading them but not replying. I was really starting to get worried now. I got up out of bed and started pacing in my room trying to figure out what's wrong. I couldn't think of anything it all seemed so perfect. I just fell to the floor and broke down. A few seconds later mum burst into the room and fell to my side. She put her arms around me and tried to calm me down. "Darling what's wrong? What's happened?" I just sobbed and showed mum my phone. She read it then said "Come on we're going down stairs to figure this out there has to be a reason for this." Mum put an arm around me and supported me down the stairs. She sat me on the sofa and put on the tv so I could calm down while she went to get us some water. The news came on and the first story was about an accident on the M25 so nothing new. Basically one car was speeding and the driver lost control and crashed into the side of another car and flipped over on top of that car. The drivers were a man in his mid 20s and a teenage girl. Wait. A teenage girl. "Mummmmm" I called. Mum entered with two glasses of water then said "Yes dear?" I stood up and walked closer to the tv ignoring my mum. I turned it up and paid close attention. The cars were a black Aston Martin and a red classic mini. No. No. NO. "MUM! MUM! MUM WE NEED TO GET TO THE HOSPITAL STRAIGHT AWAY! MUM!!" I screamed. Mum put her hands on my shoulder and said "Calm down why? why the hospital?" I ran to the door and opened it then turned back to my mum and said "THE RED MINI!! THATS CARAS CAR!!" Mums fave completely dropped and she picked up the keys and locked the front door as we got in the car.

Mum drove the fastest she could to the hospital. When we got there she locked the car and we ran into the reception. My mum said to the receptionist "Excuse me I'm looking for a Cara Wills? Is she in this hospital?" The woman checked the system then said "I'm sorry but there's no Cara Wills in the system, however there is a girl estimated to be around 16 we haven't been able to find any way of identifying her. She was in a car crash. The only thing we could find in her car was her phone." I thought for a moment while my mum said "Yes that's her, car crash. She had a red mini. Is there any way we could have her phone to identify that you have the right person." The nurse gave us a questioning look then said "How are you related to this young lady?" My mum looked at me then back at the lady and said with complete confidence "She is my daughter and this is her sister. Please. Help us." The woman sighed and said "Okay just wait here I'll go get her phone so you can see." I hugged my mum for being so helpful and strong. When the lady came back she presented us a cracked space grey iPhone 6 with blood in the cracks. She wiped off the blood with a cloth then carefully put it on the desk. I picked up the phone and put in Cara's pin. Sure enough it unlocked and it straight away opened on our chat. That's when I realized. She texted me either just before the accident or just after. A tear rolled down my face and I just nodded my head before saying "Yep. This is Cara's." The woman at the desk said sadly "Okay. I'm so sorry but thank you for helping us identify her. Let me just get Tracy, she'll explain everything." She called over Tracy who took us into a room full of X-rays. She sat us down then said "Firstly is there anyone else you need to call?" I nodded my head then said "Yes Martin." She took his number off me and got the receptionist to call him. When she came back she said "Okay now back to business. Cara has lost a lot of blood. The windscreen of her car shattered and most of it ended up in her. She has a serious concussion and the doctors think there is possible brain damage but we need to do further X-rays. She has a fractured arm and dislocated shoulder. She's just come out of surgery about 10 minuets ago. She should come around soon and we'll get you as soon as she's fit and stable enough for you to see. I'll walk you past her room so I can ask."
