I slowed my pace as I made my way to the Potions classroom Thursday evening at six to meet Gianna. I wondered if she would be a good teacher. Would she push me to hard or would she understand and be patient with me?
I took a few more steps before I came to a complete stop. I heard voices inside the classroom.
"You need to leave now." That was Gianna.
"I'm already teaching her."
"That's crazy!" Gianna exclaimed. "She came to me two days and and asked me to help her. Apparently she doesn't need your help, Malfoy."
Malfoy...
"That's what you and her think, she's completely helpless without me," he said. I finally gained the courage to storm into the room, yanking my wand out of my boot in the process.
"I am not!" I said angrily as I pointed my wand at him. I noticed my hand shaking slightly and I did my best to stop it.
"Hey, Aly," Malfoy said.
"Don't call me that," I hissed at him.
"Oh, I remember you giving me permission," he replied. I started taking a few steps forward and he backed up until he couldn't go any further because of a wall. I stepped forward a few more steps and pressed the tip of my wand on his throat.
"Maybe you won't remember if I hex you, Malfoy," I said.
"No, I think I would," he replied. I could see the amusement in his eyes and I pushed my wand even harder into his neck.
"You're pushing your luck," I stated. "I'm not interested in you or your help anymore, get over it. Gianna's helping me now, and I never even needed your help. I never wanted you as a tutor. I would have preferred anyone over you."
"I see," Draco pushed my wand away from his neck in one quick motion.
"Good." Draco leaned forward and put his mouth next to my ear.
"I just want you to know that you will be mine, because I still want you," he whispered, "and I always get what I want." He pushed past me and left. I turned around to look at Gianna who was studying me with a confused expression.
"He...we...used to date," I said softly.
"Yeah, I know, but it just seems like you hate him now," Gianna replied.
"I do," I said. I went and sat down across from her.
"Open your book to page sixteen, we'll be studying that potion. I've had permission from Professor Slughorn to use the ingredients in the cupboard," she replied.
I listened, opening my book to see that the potion was to turn one invisible for an hour. If you doubled the recipe it could be used for two hours, and so on.
"We've done this potion in class once before," I said, "near the beginning of the year. All I remember is I did terrible."
"Exactly why we're going to go over it again," Gianna said. "You're going to be a Potions master by the time I'm done with you. You see, I had this book for a brief time last year, and it was completely torn and messed up, and it had a lot of writing in it, but the potions were completely correct.
"When I got my new copy, I managed to copy all of the writing into my on book. Of course, it's a different book, but I'd like you to have it next year," Gianna stopped and handed me a book. "I believe the potion we are doing is on page one."
I did what she said and it turned out she was correct, it was just a larger portion.
"You see," she said, "if we divide some of the numbers we can get to to the size of the potion in your current book." She took out a piece of parchment and started writing. Then after a few minutes, she handed it to me.
