Fiona and I had the best seats possible for this game. We were on the front row of the bleachers running down the third base line. We would have sat on the first base line but that would indicate they we were pulling for the home team. Normally we would be pulling for the home team but we were the away team so we had to make sure we were supporting our team.

The first few innings went by with nothing but strikeouts. It wasn’t until about the fourth inning that either team got a hit. It was the home team and it was a solid grounder out into left field. He was held at first and a sloppy ground ball down the third base line caused a double play to end the inning.

It was our turn next. John was up at bat and he watched as the first pitch sailed high and outside. The next pitch was directly down the middle and I could see that John knew he wasn’t going to get a better pitch. The next thing I heard was the crack of the ball leaving the bat. I watched as the ball flew past the second baseman and landed abruptly in right field. The ball rolled all the way back to the fence and John was able to round first and slide into second for a solid double. Albert was up next and wasn’t a very strong hitter but could bunt better than anyone I have ever met. He laid a beautiful bunt down the third base line and John took off for third base. John slid and was safe and Albert was way past first base when the first basemen caught the ball. Next up was heavy hitter Tommy. Tommy watched the first few pitches go by as he waited for his pitch. The count was two balls two strikes. The next pitch Tommy had was a little high but that was how Tommy liked them. I watched as the ball lifted gracefully off of his bat and soared over the fence.

The score was Brooklyn Badgers with a score of three and Boston Brewers with a score of zero. The next few batters went down without a hit.

After Albert had wore himself down around the seventh inning we brought in the relief pitcher who was able to shut the game out allowing only one run. The final score turned out to be Brooklyn Badgers with the score of four and the Boston Brewers with the score of one.

Once the game ended and everyone started to go their separate ways, John and a few others asked me to go to lunch with them. I told them I would love to but I would have to take a rain check because I wanted to spend the day with Fiona.

“I understand man,” John said. “Hit me up tomorrow and we will hang out then, alright?”

“Sounds good man,” I told him.

It was about two before everyone had cleared out of the bleachers. I decided to ask I what she wanted to do.

“I really don’t care what we do as long as I’m hanging out with you,” She told me.

“You aren’t helping,” I told her. “Are you hungry?” I asked after a few minutes.

“No, not really,” she said. “I’m still full from breakfast,” she added.

“Want to go back to my place and watch some Netflix?” I asked.

“I have a better idea,” she said. “Nobody is going to be at my house for a few hours, why don’t we go hang out there?”

“Alright sounds good,” I told her. “I just have to run home and leave a note letting them know where I am in case they need to find me.”

“Okay,” she said.

We started walking back to my place when my dad rolled up and asked us if we wanted a ride. I told him no thank you but thanked him for the gesture. He resumed to roll and talk with us for a little while. He asked how the game went before realizing that I wasn’t able to play in it.

“I didn’t mean,” he trailed off.

“It’s fine,” I told him a little hurt. “The team won and I was there supporting them the entire time,”

“Oh ok,” he said. “I’m going home, need anything?”

“No but I’m going over to Fiona’s house though, I’ll be home later,” I told him.

Okay, you guys have fun and stay safe,” he said before driving off.

We continued walking but this time to her house. We finally arrived but when we did Fiona turned to me with a nervous look in her eyes.

“What’s wrong? I asked her.

“I’m afraid of what you are going to think when you step inside,” she said.

“I doubt it is that bad but if it will make you feel better when I come inside I will give you time to explain things, okay?” I asked trying to re-assure her.

As soon as we stepped inside I saw the most beautiful house ever. The house was painted with a light blue color making everything seem comfortable. The house was decorated with nice china and there was a grand piano in the living room.

“Wow,” I said amazed.

“I don’t want you to think I’m rich or anything,” she said. “Most of the things in this house were handed down from generations and look like they have value tough they are worthless,” she continued.

“It looks incredible,” I told her.

“If you’re into that kind of thing sure,” she said.

She grabbed my arm and pulled me upstairs to her room where she showed me things I would never thought she had. She had items that would make even the craziest mind wonder. For some strange reason this only made me like her more.

“I love your room,” I told her.

Fiona’s Point Of View

I completely misheard what he said because when he said I love your room, I only heard I love you. Not missing a beat I quickly responded with I love you too. I instantly thought that I had just ruined the entire mood until he pulled me close and kissing me.
