When Worlds Combine ~ Exam

I stayed up late last night, trying to get as much studying as I could. The history exam was the next day and I really needed to pass. Unfortunately, I fell asleep while still trying to study. This morning I woke up back in my bed. I got up and started to get ready, wondering how I ended up in my bed. I'm not going to complain, after all, sleeping in bed is a lot nicer than in a chair. I head downstairs, seeing my notes were still on the table. I pick them up and put them in my backpack. I turn, seeing a smiling skeleton behind me. I gasp, not expecting him to be behind me.

"Gosh darn it, you are quiet." I say, glaring at him. He chuckles and shrugs. "If you want anything to eat or drink, you can raid the cabnets... I will go shopping later."

"I bet Pap and I could do that if you want. Well, I bet Pap would love to do that." Sans says.

"I don't know... after what happened yesterday, you guys walking around outside may not be good." I reply quietly.

"If you are talking about that girl, I doubt she will be a problem. You really showed her who's boss." The skeleton says, winking. I'm starting to get used to the fact that a skeleton could wink.

"It's not just her, Sans." I finally say. He looks at me, with a confused smile.

"What do you mean? No one else have given us problems." Sans responds.

"Sans... humans are most afraid of things that they don't understand. I'm not going to lie, I've been afraid of you guys too. At this moment, people are still trying to figure you guys out... but I would bet my life that very soon we are going to have more problems than just people calling you a freak."

"I don't understand. We haven't done anything to scare the humans. We said we wanted to be friends." Sans responds, completely confused. I sigh, rubbing my eyes with my hand.

"It doesn't matter. You have the ability to become very powerful enemies, which scares humans." I reply.

"But we can also be very powerful allies!"

"Allies of who? Against who, Sans?" Sans looks up at me, a hurt expression on his face. I shake my head. "I'm sorry Sans.... I'm tired and worried about some exam thing today." Sans doesn't respond, just looks away. I sigh. It was an excuse, really, what I said before really worried me... still, I wish I didn't say anything. I must have really hurt him, he wasn't even smiling. I grab my backpack and leave.

It was bothering the whole way to school, though at one point I thought of visiting Frisk later in the day. It was in school when I realized that there was a lot more whispering than normal in the hallways. I didn't need to ask why, the looks I was getting was all the information I needed.

I groaned, leaning back in my chair. I finished my exam and I have never been happier. I turn in the packet and essay, rubbing my forehead. That's when my phone started buzzing. I pull it out of my pocket, seeing it was the orphanages's number. I turn to my teacher, point to my phone, then to the door. The teacher nods and I exit the classroom. I've never been so glad to get a laid back teacher before. I answer the call.

"Hello?"

"(Y/N)!" A familiar young voice chirps happily.

"Frisk! Aren't you supposed to be in school? Is something wrong?" I ask worriedly.

"HUMAN! IS THAT YOU?" Another familiar voice yells.

"What's going on? Is Papyrus there with you?"

"Yup! Pap is here and Toriel and Asgore and Undyne and Napstablook and Monster Kid and Sans." When I heard Sans' name, I was practically crushed with guilt.

"Wh-why are they all there? You guys are at the orphanage, right?" I ask.

"Yup! We are all having a lot of fun! We are going to go on a picnic! Can you come too? Asgore wants to meet you! He really wants to meet you after talking to Sans. You two have become really good friends, haven't you?" Frisk says excitedly. I rub my eyes.

"Oh gosh..." I groan.

"What's wrong, (Y/N)?"

"Nothing... look Frisk, I can't really go to the picnic... I'm at school."

"Awwwww. Please (Y/N)?" Frisk begs. I sigh. There is no way I could say no to them.

"Alright... I have only one class, I'll ask the teacher if I can leave and make up the work." I say. I heard Frisk cheer on the other end on the phone, causing me to smile. I finally hang up after exchanging goodbyes. I put my phone away and sighs. I felt like a child about to get in trouble for something. I sighed, before going to talk to my teachers.

I walk to the store, to buy a few things for the pinic. The store wasn't huge, but had a lot of different types of food. I don't know what type of food they had down in the monster world, but from what I've seen, they have some similar food, but not all the same. I know that the skeleton brothers didn't know what tea was, but then again... I probably shouldn't judge all the monsters off of those two. After all, Papyrus tried to put glitter in spaghetti and Sans drank straight Ketchup. I still felt pretty guilty... scratch that, very guilty for what I said this morning to sans, so I grabbed a bottle of ketchup, hoping that could make up a few things. I finished shopping, I made my way to the park where the monsters and Frisk would be having the picnic. I'm pretty sure Sans was the first person to see me, but Frisk was the first person to react. They ran up to me, wrapping their arms around me. I rub the top of their head, messing up their hair.

"Hey there!" I greet.

"Hello!" Frisk replys, letting go of me to grab my hand. They drag me to glthe group of monsters, introducing me to Asgore and Undyne, who were the only two I haven't been introduced to yet. I got along with the monsters very well, we had a lot of fun. At one point Undyne decided to show me some new fighting skills she had learn. I'm positive that I'm going to be extremely sore tomorrow. Sans didn't talk to me, but he seemed pretty happy about the ketchup. It has been sometime before Asgore came up to me.

"(Y/N)? Can we talk?"
