"Oliver, could you chuck me that bag?" He tossed it across the room and I surprisingly caught it. Stephen was taking us to find my dad. He had it figured out and we could go. Stephen came into the room. "We ready?" I looked over at Oliver. He sent me that look like he's asking if I'm good. I took a deep breath. "Let's do it."
We got out to the woods a while away from the castle. "Can't we just use brooms? It's easier to get where we're going."
"We can't risk getting caught."
"So we fly low. I can dodge around trees easily."
"Still, something can happen. We should just walk."
"And get ourselves killed if someone comes cause we can't get away quick enough?"
"They could see us in the sky and track us. It's too risky."
"But we'll stay low a-"
"We're not taking the brooms!" Stephen was inches away from Oliver. They were giving each other glares. That's just what we need right now, fighting. Stephen pushed Oliver. "Don't touch me!" Oliver said, pushing him back. I jumped in front of them before anything else could happen.
"Stop! Fighting is not gonna solve anything. Oliver, I love you and your ideas, but I'm taking Stephen's side on this one. He knows what we're doing better than we do. And Stephen, don't fight Oliver. He's been through some stuff and don't make things worse by arguing." Oliver gave me a confused and angry look. "You're taking his side?!"
"Oliver, he knows what he's doing. I have to trust him. Can you do that? Please?" He walked away, putting his head in his hands. He was getting frustrated.
"Oliver. Please? I love you and don't want to lose you. You told me to accept this and do things for the people you love. That's what I'm doing. Please, trust me?" He froze and turned back around. He started to come back over. I just hoped he won't go after Stephen again. He came and kissed me. Was I wrong. "Okay, let's go."
It started to get dark. "We can have a camp here. I'll get firewood." Stephen walked off to get the wood. Oliver started pitching the tent up. "Need some help?"
"Yeah, thanks." It may have taken us a while, but we got it. Stephen came back and started the fire. "This is insane," I stated.
"Vi, that's been the normal for 3 years. What else is new?" We all laughed.
"Well, what do you expect from a wizard?" Stephen asked.
"Thanks guys, I get the point. Shove it in my face more." Stephen chucked a woodchip at my head. "Hey!" I said as I threw one back. We eventually all ended up throwing woodchips at each other. We were all tired after that and got some well earned sleep.
Boom! I jumped awake. Everyone else was up and alert. You could see smoke billowing in the distance. We got all our stuff together and started running. "This way!" Stephen shouted. We dodged through the trees. I looked over to see Oliver, heavily breathing. Running wasn't the greatest for him, and this just added onto the problem. He started to slow down. "Stephen, we need to stop."
"We can't, we have to ke-"
"Oliver can't do it! Unless you want him gone to, we have to stop!" He lead us behind some rocks. Oliver fell to the ground the second he came over. "Oliver!" I pulled his head into my lap. He was breathing heavily, wrapping his arms around his stomach. "Stephen, do you have water?" He pulled the canteen. Oliver took it and started to drink.
He sat up, getting his breathing back to normal. "It's okay. Deep breaths Oliver. Deep breaths." His breathing steadied out. "I'm good. I'm good." We helped him back up and walked a bit more.
"So where did you say this jackass is?" Oliver asked.
"He's in some secluded cave he made real fancy and livable."
"Why would you leave your wife and kids behind to live in a crappy cave?"
"Because he hates his daughter," I spoke up. The boys sent me sorrowful looks. Oliver grabbed my hand, intertwining our fingers. "Maybe he'll change his mind once he sees you."
"Highly doubt that."
"Hey guys, it's getting kinda late. I think I saw a town nearby. Maybe we could find an inn and stay the night."
"Well, it's better then a tent, on the ground..... with a centipede crawling up your arm," He said, fluttering his fingers up my arm.
"Ahh, stop it!" He chuckled. "I'm sorry love."
"Whatever, let's just go." We slowly, but surely, made our way to town. We found an inn and rented a room. It was small, but we made it work. Good thing there was enough room for us to all sleep somewhere that wasn't the floor. I tried to fix my hair before I went to bed. Oliver came up behind me, snaking his arms around my waist. He rested his head on my shoulder.
"You're so beautiful. How did I end up with you?"
"You were the only person who got the guts to talk to this loser."
"You're not a loser."
"Yes I am."
"Shut up! You're not a loser. You're a winner. I'm a winner for ending up with you."
"You're so sappy."
"But you love me."
"Yes I do. I love you so much."
"I love you to m'lady." He gave me a kiss before we hopped into bed. "You know, I think I'll get a tattoo that says 'M'lady' just for you."
"No you're not. Goodnight dream boy."
"Goodnight m'lady."
"Night Stephen."
"Night guys, see ya in the morning." I laid there, waiting for sleep to take over my tired body. I hate when you feel tired and get to a bed, but then can't fall asleep. Why is the universe against me? It must have something against me, or else I wouldn't have the key to destroying the world. After a while, I fell asleep.
Bam, chapter. I know that it took a while, but I'm lazy and have been writing some other stuff. Thank you so much for reading and I'll see ya in the next chapter. All the love, Abby<3
