"This is so unsafe, I don't think it's a good idea."

Haven wriggled slightly at Bella's words, considering she knew her best friend had a point. Her arms and legs were laying flat on Carlisle's hospital bed with a bunch of wires and tubes standing by beside her. "If you have any other suggestions, Bells, I would love to hear them."

Bella shook her head. "I know it is the only thing we can do, doesn't mean I like it though."

"None of us like it," Edward told his girlfriend with an arm wrapped around her shoulder. They both stood to the side of Carlisle's exam located in the back of the Cullen household. "But it's Haven's decision."

It was her decision indeed considering the plan that was just about to start was going to rid Haven of Aro's control over her. Carlisle had been searching day in and day out since Haven was injected with Aro's venom for a way to rid her system of it. The connection with a normal vampire would be nothing to worry about, but Aro was forcing emotions into Haven's body that were making her borderline insane. Haven wanted his control off her – no matter the risk.

"Trust me, if you both had a psychotic vampire being able to speak in your mind and let you feel things then you would be doing the exact same thing," Haven commented as the door to the exam opened, three people walking in with hesitant looks on their faces.

Haven's father and mother were by her side rather quickly after discussing with Carlisle what they had to. Chris Eldridge had joined his wife and daughter in Forks after they informed him the Volturi already knew of him being alive, which they were obviously going to avenge somehow. That was the bargain; Haven and Casey got to leave Volterra for the life of Chris – his connection with Carlisle being the only thing to stop him from dying at the Volturi's hands. Chris thought he might as well come out of hiding considering they knew about his whereabouts, he would rather be with his family while the ancient vampires plotted against him.

"You alright?" Chris asked the girl quietly, his hand smoothing back some of her chocolate brown locks from her forehead.

Haven nodded, hoping that her nervousness wasn't plastered on her face.

She did have a right to be nervous really. Her eyes nearly popped out of her head when Carlisle first said he would have to drain her of all her blood – which Haven first presumed would kill her. That wasn't the case however, yes her blood had to be fully drained because all of it was contaminated with Aro's venom, and putting other blood in her while that venom was in her system would only contaminate that blood, but that didn't mean she had to die.

Haven had forgotten all the scientific names and terms Carlisle had used when he first told her of the plan yesterday, but she knew the basis of it. The new blood that was going to go into her system couldn't just be regular hunter blood because it wouldn't fill her system fast enough so that her heart would keep beating. Hunter blood with vampire venom in it however would rush through her veins at almost fifty times the speed of blood without. This meant that Carlisle had to act fast in getting the new blood into Haven's system.

It also meant that Haven would have to have a connection with another vampire – it was the only way that she would be able to live.

This thought scared Haven at first considering the terrible experience she had with Aro's connection, but then she realized it wasn't the connection with a vampire that made her crazy, it was that connection being with Aro.

She hoped that being without his presence that the connection could actually be enjoyable as she knew the pros outweighed the cons. That bond gave Haven vampire abilities and that in tow made her stronger. Nothing was better for a practicing huntress than a bit of added strength.
