Once we were done playing on the Wii, we started a game of pool. I, of course, couldn't win.
"How the fuck do you expect me to know how to play pool?" I laughed.
"I don't. I just have lots of practice."
We played about four and a half games before he started complaining about his arms aching. Mine had started aching halfway through the first game, but I didn't say anything. Because he looked like he was having a good time; better than the party. He looked amazing when he was happy. We sat on the couch, taking a break.
"Hey, Gee?" He muttered softly into my ear, "do you like candy?"
I perked up at the notion of the word. "YES."
I stood upright immediately, a surge of adrenaline coursing through me. My eyes were bulging, my face was persistent.
I like candy, you see.
I like sugar, and coffee, and anything that could have caffeine in it. Call me crazy, but the stuff is fucking good.
Well, if Frank had candy, I'd marry him on the spot.
"Gee, don't get too excited," He tried to keep a solemn expression, but failed when seeing my insane one. He broke out into a smile and started giggling.
"Kay Kay," I said lightning fast. Excitement makes me hyper. Hell - just the thought of sugar makes me hyper.
"I just bought like two bags of assorted candy, and thought I'd have to eat it by myself."
"TAKE ME TO IT!" I shrieked.
"Gerard, I told you not to-"
"TAKE ME TO IT NOW!"
He pointed at the closet, and I was over there faster then you could say "freako". I fidgeted while waiting for him, my attempt at trying to be courteous in this suggestive state of mind.
He slowly - SO FUCKING SLOW PICK UP THE PACE FRANKIE - walked over and opened the door. I gasped -
You know how in movies, the treasure has that golden glow around it? Like it's not real?
It may have been in my head, but those bags of candy had that ethereal golden glow to them. My jaw dropped, and I held up one of the bags like it was Simba in the lion king.
"HOLY CANDY!" I breathed in awe. Frank was behind me trying to keep himself from laughing; I knew this because he wasn't doing a very good job.
"Don't eat too much, Gerard. You'll get a stomachache."
I pouted at him, made a whiny sound.
"Don't even. Stomachaches suck - take it from someone with experience."
"Experience? With stomachaches?"
He sighed. "Yea... I get stomachaches when I get upset or stressed. It's painful."
"You know what'll fix that?"
"What?"
"Sugar, spice, and lots of Gerard." I pecked his cheek, and then dug into the candy.
After I ate ten packets of Smarties, I was - almost literally - jumping off the walls.
Frank was chasing me, laughing his ass off, but I was too fast. Nothing like me on a sugar rush.
We ran around after each other for a while, me always catching him and pinning him to the walls or the ground. A steamy kiss and then some, and we'd continue.
Eventually, though, came the sugar crash.
I collapsed on Frank's bed, and he fell down next to me. The prospect that we were on a bed did not bother me at the moment; I was still not in my right mind.
"Gerard?"
"Yea?"
"Have you ever wanted to go on an adventure?"
I nodded slowly. "Yeah. Like seeing the world, meeting new people?"
"Exactly."
"That'd be super cool."
"It's my dream to explore the world, to see all the different cultures and people and landscapes..." By the way he was speaking, he sounded like he was very passionate. My heart softened to hear him like this, so excited.
Since I was still sugary, the best thing I could say was bullshit. "I think that's a nice dream." I beat myself up for that later.
"Yeah, it is." And so we sat there.
