The Parent Project

Maya's POV

I walk into the apartment and my mouth is hanging wide open.

"Wow," is the only thing all four of us can manage to get out.

"Are you guys ready for the best time of your lives," Lucas says.

The kids just jump around even Diego is giggling; clapping his hands and kicking his feet, he is so adorable.

Lucas and I just laugh at their excitement, and we all take a tour around the four-bedroomed house.

First room was Abigail's room.

Next to her room was Charlie's room.

Across the hall from Charlie's room was Diego's nursery.

And next to that and across from Abi's room was mine and Lucas's room.

"Wow, this place is amazing. I love it already," I says, "Ok. Abi, here's your bag,  go unpack."

"Ok, Maya," Abi says as she walks to her bedroom.

Lucas and I walk into our room.

"This place is incredible," I say.

Lucas nods his head in agreement. He starts unpacking.

"Unpack my things," I order him.

"What, why must I unpack your things?" He asks

"Well, I'm a mom now, so I have to start cooking," I say

"Fine,"

"Peaches, that was amazing," Riley says as our families finish eating together.

"Yeah, Maya, I didn't know you were that talented," Lucas says, I smile at him and he smiles back.

Max; Henry; Jordan; Nina, let's go home and get ready for bed," Farkle says as he picks up little Nina.

We greet each other and they leave.

"Abs, go shower, quickly," I order her, as she gets in the shower, I ask Lucas to help Charlie bath. While I wash Diego in the baby bath.

We put the kids to sleep. I get in the shower as Lucas puts Diego to bed. As I come out of the bathroom I see Lucas lying on the bed, on his phone.

"Shower, now," I say very sternly.

"You're their mom, not mine," he says.

"Shower, or you sleep on the couch on your first night here,"

He groans and gets up, goes to shower then comes back and gets under the blankets.

"Happy now?" He asks

"Very," I say as he fake smiles and I return the favour.

He stares at me and we both start leaning in and he kisses me. I pull back quickly in shock.

"What are you doing?!"

"Maya, I'm sorry, I didn-" I cut him off.

I kiss him again, this time longer. We both break away and look into each other's eyes.

"I love you, Maya," He says.

I smile,"I love you to, Lucas," I say and we kiss one more time and then go to bed.

I close my eyes and Lucas spoons me, holding me very protectively. I feel safe with him. And just like that I fall into a deep slumber.
