The Lord's Estate was no small feat to overcome. I'd moved in close to three weeks ago.

And besides me consistently failing my weekly Assessments as a new Maiden. I also consistently got lost. Take right now for example. The Parlour room I stood in was tall. Elegant. Mostly dusty, so most assuredly unused for the most part, and most certainly not where I was intending to go. It would seem to be as mentioned by Sulana the many parts of the property that was to remain empty. Per our Lords demands.
Not to be visited by even a single soul; I couldn't imagine it being any different however. Lord Jerias Ermanno was but only one sole man.

Alone and burdened by an estate he could now no longer share with even a lover. He was without family for quite some time and it is unlikely his demeanor allows for friendship. Certainly not many. Not enough to fill this... castle of a place.

I've been here nearly a month, as mentioned, and not once has he greeted his new staff. The rest of my peers had been here longer and so far haven't met him either. Nonetheless, I can't complain really; I couldn't imagine being a leader of five nations. How stressful, time consuming, draining, and mind-numbingly... well... possibly depressing... it could be. He was in every manner—- fulfilling such a role as he was— a very busy man.

Or at least Sulana says. She said he wasn't here either. Business trip. Apparently away at Maher, a city just outside of Anar.

Although, he was not just busy apparently.
He was artistic too.
It was only rumored of course, but, instruments filled the room head to toe and in every corner so clearly the rumors were true. I walked curiously and against better judgement, towards a piano.

Shiny, large, and besides the harp, it was the largest item in here. Certainly the largest piano I'd ever seen. It looked like it belonged on stage, with a composer and pianist whose only lover was the piano itself.

"Stunning..." I whisper. Then my fingers hover the dark wood.

Then I rub my fingers curiously. The piano itself was only a little dusty. Was it still in use?

"Miss Ines Patience Archer." A woman's low, and disapproving  voice calls out.

Ugh, Sulana.

"You most certainly should not be in here... this part of the building—" She spoke every word with a pause and disbelieving tone.

"How did you find me?" I cut her off.

"How in the world did you find your way in here. This room is not to be entered by anyone but the Emori himself."

I hold back from rolling my eyes. I know we're supposed to be a obsessed with the guy, but to this degree is insane. It not like he's hiding gold or cash in here. It's just a bunch of instruments. It's an unnecessary rule that's really just teasing for no reason. You think you'd find something important at least.

"I am so sorry. I got lost..." which was a true. Or was at some point. I was lost and then I accepted I was lost and then decided to see if our dear Emori was in fact hiding some gold or cash. Or something tantalizing anyways.

"Did you forget how to read in the process?" Sulana folds her hands and tilts her head, she narrows her pretty eyes and pauses. She refers to the sign it would seem— the very big sign clearly stating, Do Not Enter.

I tilt my own head and consider lying. How does she know if I'm not reading impaired.

"Unless you posses some sort of impairment..." Lana says as though she we're reading my mind, "Ms. Ines Archer... you have no reason, or excuse for being in this very room."

I don't say anything for a long time.

I shuffle on my feet before a sheepish and meek, "I'm sorry," is offered.
