The team piled out of the tourist shop front. They were all clutching their guns tightly in their pockets as they fanned out in a semi-circle, and I followed closely after Jack.We keep walking. Nothing seemed out of place. We reach the water feature, and there is a blue police box sitting there. Nothing that would look out of place, but it sent a wave of nausea through me. Jack dropped his gun and ran up to it, banging on the door.
"Jack? Jack?" The rest of the team ran up behind him, but I stood rigid, my vision swimming. Another man walked up next to me, with a tan trench coat that sparked something in my memory. Had I seen him somewhere before?
"They look like idiots, don't they," he jokes, capturing my gaze. His eyes knocked the air out of my lungs, but I held strong.
"Who are you?" I accuse.
"Ah me? Well I'm sort of a-"
"DOCTOR!" A redhead ran up to him, grabbed his arm and started dragging him away.
"Well buh-bye! I'll see you around?" He gave me a goofy smile, before turning and running off with the girl.
I turned back to Jack, to see him and the team talking. I ran over, the sudden movement unsettling my stomach again. My breathing ripped through me. Who had that man been?
"The Doctor has to be here somewhere. We just have to find him-"
"Doctor?" I say hesitantly, my voice small and wavering.
"Yes. Do you remember our conversation?" Jack snapped.
"Well I just saw someone who called himself the Doctor..."
"WHERE? TELL ME!" He yelled, grabbing my coat.
"He went that way with a red-haired woman," I say, pointing in that direction. Jack starts running that way, pulling me with him. The team split up to cover more ground, and once again I was being pulled along by Jack..
We eventually caught up with the tail end of his brown coat.
"Doctor? DOCTOR!" Jack yelled. The man stopped and whipped around. His face was blank for a second before it lit up in recognition.
"Jack!" The Doctor exclaimed.
"What are you doing here Doctor?"
"Ah see it's a long story. See, I was just in the TARDIS with Donna here minding my own business and then there was this alarm and she landed here."
The redhead buts in, "What he means is that he doesn't know. Donna, by the way." She shakes hands with Jack before the Doctor turns his attention to the team.
"Oh, who is this?" He asked, walking towards me.
"Phoenix. Hello again Doctor," I say, holding out my hand. He shakes it, and my hand gets an uncomfortable feeling in it, like pins and needles. I pull it back hesitantly.
Suddenly, a loud beeping noise emits from The Doctor's coat pocket. He pulls out a small device, whose red light is flashing. He turns in a circle and starts running down the road again.
"And off we go!" Says Donna, sending Jack a brilliant smile. I take off after them.We arrive at the edge of a wood. There are no houses but The Doctor's device is beeping so fast that it's blurring into one sound.
"There's got to be something here. Split up and search!" The Doctor announced.
"Doctor? What are we looking for?" Asked Donna.
"You'll know when you see it," he assures us. I shrug and start staring intently at the ground.
After about 10 minutes of looking, I'm quite far from the others. A glint catches my eye, and I'm pulled over to a tree. It's got some strange carvings in the wood. I bend down and my fingers close around a cold object around the size of my palm. As I stand up, I see that it's a fob watch. It's covered in all those strange markings that are on the tree. I flip it over. Is this what The Doctor was looking for? It couldn't be. I slipped it into my pocket and kept looking.
