We never really saw each other throughout the day, except we were partners in Spanish Class. We were itty bitty freshman, but you already had some background in Spanish and helped me along the way. After 2 months of not working together, we finally sat there and talked to each other about ourselves. We instantly became best friends. We texted and talked every day. We still didn't have any other classes together, but we made it work with just one class. Sophomore year, we got really close. We had our first 4 classes of the day together, and well, you helped me pass half of them. We hung out and went to the mall a couple times, and soon became those inseparable best friends everyone dreaded. We knew just about everything about each other, and we never got tired of talking. Then junior year came. I started talking to this older girl in chorus, you started talking to boys. That's when our paths split from one lane to two. We were still walking side by side, but just had different plans for ourselves. You had a boyfriend, and I was pushed to the side. We still talked and hung out a lot, we even celebrated our birthdays together, but there was always that drift that we no longer had something in common. Senior year came fast. It hit us that after this year, the chances of us seeing each other were slim. We wanted to make it memorable and awesome.  But, we started off the school year rough. You sat next to your boyfriend, I sat the end of the table by myself, it already didn't look good. We talked in between classes, but not nearly as much as before. The classes we did have together, your boyfriend was in, so you would talk more to him than anyone else. That left me, alone in a class where no one stopped talking. Then I found someone new. I found a friend, who like me, just wanted to enjoy her senior year. So we started talking more, and me and you talked less and less. It got to the point of you didn't know I had gotten a boyfriend until after me and him broke up. I got used to turning around to talk to you and seeing your back, so I stopped turning. If you weren't going to make the effort to talk to me, then why should I? So we hit the fork in the road. You went one way, I went the other, and I want to apologize. Clearly we won't be in each others lives for quite some time, but I just want to say sorry. I'm sorry if I'm the reason we got to this point. I'm sorry if you had to do things so you weren't the one alone. Maybe if I hadn't stopped trying we could still be friends today. Maybe our paths wouldn't have split. Maybe I was the only one in the wrong. Maybe I was jealous. Maybe I wanted to show you that if you could ignore me, I could ignore you. Maybe I wanted to show you that you can have a relationship and friends. I'm sorry. It's not going to change anything, it's far too late for that. We haven't spoken in months, unless you count that snapchat conversation about Dance Moms. I hope you had an eventful and exciting senior year, I know I did. I hope life takes you far. I hope you and your boyfriend haven't broken up, but if you have, know that I'm here for you. I wish things could've been different, but if I've learned anything new this year, it's that God does things for a reason, and maybe he knew something would happen so he took us out of each others lives. Does it hurt? Yeah, losing your best friend of 3 years sucks. Was I the reason? Maybe, but we'll never know why things happen. Could we fix anything? Probably not. There's so much we've missed from each others lives now that I don't think we could just rekindle and be best friends again. But I'll leave with this, thank you. Thanks for being my best friend for 3 years. Thanks for sticking by my side through everything. Thanks for the memories. I wish you the best of luck in college and in life. Know that if you ever need anyone, I'll always be here, but know that we'll never go back to what we once had.
