I can't say I'm just the tiniest bit disappointed she's not expecting. She's about my age, maybe she'd relate on the whole teen parenting thing. I needed more than Tori to relate to about the teen thing. By the looks of it, these women might just be my step by step comedian guide to being pregnant. Lord, I know I need as much help as I can get!
Blake looks like he's having fun. The group of men seem to have gotten up and started playing with the children. There's a huge outdoor setting with slides, ropes, and swings to play on.
This group would easily become a parenting group, not just a one stop place for me to learn and talk about my problems. Maybe one day, our little one will play outside and go to school with the other children. Grow up and be best friends with someone.
Eden talks about her delivery method along with August. They're both going for complete opposite things. August wants to be in hospital to deliver her first baby, while Eden wants a calm water birth at home. She's talking about inviting everyone, and the thought of attending that freaks me out.
I know I'll be pushing out a baby in the nearing months, but I don't want to see a baby come out of someone else's downstairs. And filming? Nobody is poking a camera there . . . no, thank you.
At some point, Charlotte gets up to make drinks. Grace jumps onto the topics of names, which makes me laugh. Finally, one thing I can sort of relate to.
"Do you have any names in mind, Ava?" asks Grace.
"Blake's mother wants a little Paris."
"Aw, that's so cute!" Squeals Bree. "Why Paris, what if you have a boy?"
"Blake's other daughter is called London, so it would be cute to match their names up, you know? I've always wanted to travel to Paris with my brother. For a boy, I don't know." I frown. "Dallas seems like an alright name at the moment."
"Those names are totally adorable," says Bree.
"Thanks." I smile.
At the end of the group, they get up and hug each other. All of them give me hugs before walking outside to greet their children and partners. Eden hangs back to clean up the mess, so I help her. I grab the cups off the table and take them to the kitchen.
"Thanks for helping, hun."
"No worries. Thanks for suggesting the group to me. I've really enjoyed myself."
"I hope to see you next week!"
"I'll be here, and with our daughter, London. She's coming back to us on Monday," I reply.
"I'm excited to meet her! Every second weekend, we switch it up so the guys can go and do whatever. Next week we're doing fun activities with the children."
"Okay, awesome."
Blake comes running inside, puffed and out of breath.
"Can you believe a small child has more energy than me? I used to train all the time for sport and now I'm huffing." Blake shakes his head with amaze.
"Children will do that to you!" Laughs Eden.
"We should get going," I add, hinting at Blake it's time for us to leave.
"Sure." Nods Blake.
We wave goodbye to the group outside and Eden shows us out the front door. Blake wraps his arm around my neck and tugs me to his side.
"Was that really painful?"
"So painfully." I shake my head and giggle. "I have a feeling Eden is going to be inviting us around to her birthing." I still shiver at the thought. I'd come at the beginning, maybe say hi and leave a present. I don't know how much support I'll be passed out on the floor.
"You can go alone to that one," replies Blake. "Watching Tori give birth was scaring enough."
"What about me?" I dig my elbow into his side.
"I was hoping to be out of town." He chuckles. "Maybe throw our mothers into the room and hide?"
"No way! Those two aren't coming inside, I don't want them looking . . . you know where." I blush at the thought of his mother looking at my private parts. Sure, I could live with a doctor, but not Angela. I'd forever be scared by that moment. What if I poo? I don't want Angela seeing that.
"Mum fought her way in for Tori, which I'm sure she's thankful for. Tori's mother got held up in traffic, so she missed most of the birth," explains Blake. "Mum really helped her get through it."
"No parents."
"Are –"
"No parents or the kind inside the room."
"Have fun telling our mothers that." He snickers cheekily.
Blake and I get inside the car and set up for the drive home. Blake tries to put on his music, but as soon as we're driving, I hit the C.D button and put on my own music. He playfully pouts at me, which earns him a smile in return. I hold onto Blake's free hand as we drive along.
As I look outside the window at the houses flashing past, I think maybe, just maybe . . . we'll make it out of this together. Blake and I always seem to find our way back together one baby step at a time.
