"Who is ready to par-tay?!" A male student with wind-swept black hair and a huge mouth screamed down the mic.
The club crowd roared with excitement. Coloured lasers flashed through the dark room.
"Woo! Let's kick it off with a performance from a ruthless young woman, who I'm sure you will all come to love, give it up for our first performer, RUBY!!!"
The sea of students whooped and whistled as a small girl with shimmering gold hair appeared on the stage. Ruby had a slim, athletic build, a small smile and glittery eye lids. She wore navy skinny jeans, sparkly gold heels and a gold sequined top.
An R&B beat began pumping through the speakers. It was loud; beating in time with Ruby's heart. It thudded in her ears.
The student waved their hands in the air. Ruby began to sing.
