CaptainCanary: A Second Chance (Book 2)

"Are you sure you want to stay?  Dahrk is gone.." Rip asked before the rest of the team headed towards the wave rider.  Leonard was standing next to Sara as they watched the other team exit for their leave.  She nods.  "I know.  And I am sure.  I belong here in Star City..  And I've been thinking a lot lately on the past couple weeks.  I want to hang up my suit for awhile.  Just try to be..  Normal for once."  Rip smiled.  "Well.  If anyone deserves it.  I know you do.  We will miss you.  Both of you."  Rip gave them a small nod of goodbye before exiting to the wave rider while the other team members took turns hugging Sara and shaking Snart's hand.  Sara sighed a little.  Rip was never one to show much emotion.

Once the wave rider disappeared Sara turned slightly to glance up at Leonard.  "So..  What do you plan on doing next?"  She asked him.  She was most certain that Cold would head back to Central City.  She was shocked that Leonard decided to stay behind as well, with her.  And she was even more shocked that Mick had decided to stay on the mission when he didn't want to be there in the first place.  She assumed since his partner stayed that Mick would too.  One thing Felicity was right about.  Some people really could change for the better.  She had seen it with Oliver when he was with Felicity.  And now with Leonard and Mick.

Leonard raises his eye slightly.  "If you are asking if I was going to go back to my old life..."  He began but Sara raised her hand up to stop him from finishing his sentence.  "That's not what I was asking at all...". Leonard stayed quiet a few minutes before speaking.  "I thought I would try staying here..  With you..  I have been thinking on a lot of things lately..  And I have enjoyed spending time with you here."  Sara watched him giving a small grin.  "I would have assumed you would like to go back to Central City.  I have enjoyed spending time with you as well."  Leonard gave a slight shake of his head.  "I don't have anything in Central City to go back to."  He said taking a small step forward. Sara smiled a little.  "And what made you change your mind?"  Leonard smirked as he glanced down at Sara wrapping his arms around her.  "Let's just say, a certain blonde.."  Sara raises her eye slightly wrapping her arms around his neck.  "More specific Snart.  There's a few blondes around here."  She teased giving him a small wink.  Leonard laughed.  "Well I would have thought it was pretty obvious."  Sara tilted her head slightly pretending to look like she was thinking.  She was ready to give her response when she felt Leonard leaning in closer to give her a kiss.  She grinned a little then returned the kiss. 

"What do you plan on doing next?"  Leonard asked once Sara had told him the news that Oliver and the rest of team arrow had decided to hang up their suits as well.  "Wow.  Oliver becoming mayor..."  Leonard smirked being amused as he waited for Sara to reply.  Sara laughed a little.  "I would have never believed it if someone told me about ten years ago that Oliver would become mayor."  Sara gave a small shrug.  "I'm not sure.  I thought about giving the college thing a shot..  See if I can find myself a job..  When I was younger, I sort of would of liked to become a teacher."  Leonard wrapped his arms around her as they were sitting on Sara's living room couch chatting. 

"I am sure that you will.  You are quite amazing and I am sure someone would be lucky to have you work for them.  I think that would suit you very well."  Sara smiled a little.  "And what about you?"  She asked looking up at him.  He shook his head.  "Considering my background and I'm a wanted criminal.  I highly doubt that anyone will want to hire me Sara.."  "Well..  I just happen to know someone who is willing to give you a chance."  Leonard raises his eye slightly with surprise looking at her and waiting for her to continue.  "Really?  Who?"  Sara grinned a little.  "Oliver.  He said he might have a few office jobs you might be able to handle."  Leonard laughed a little.  "You don't have to stay there forever.  Just to get your foot in the door.."  Sara suggested.
