Junior Year, Miami
Camila silently walked into the school as her best friend and her best friend's girlfriend talked. She was third-wheeling, but she didn't mind, she zoned out.
As they walked up the steps of the school, Camila looked up, locking eyes with green ones.
Lauren looked away, stuffing her hands in her pockets. Camila sighed and ran a hand through her hair.
"I'll see you guys later," Camila mumbled to Dinah and Normani, walking away.
"What happened with them?" Dinah asked, grabbing Normani's hand.
Normani shrugged, "Lauren won't tell me."
"Camila won't tell me either," Dinah said, then hummed. "Weird,"
Present Day, Miami
I was now in gym class, dressed in the grey shirt and navy blue shorts. I jogged the field, going at my own pace. The sun was beating down on me, causing me to break a sweat.
I turned my head to see someone jogging next to me, Normani.
"Hey Y/N," she greeted me.
"Hi Mani," I said. "What's up?"
"How fast can you go? Like, running wise?" Normani asked, curiosity shown on her face.
"Wanna race and find out?" I grinned, challenging her.
A determined smile spread on her face, "You're on."
We both slowly came to a stop, taking a minute to stretch. People jogged around us, or stood to the side, seeing as we're getting ready to race.
"One," I counted off. "Two," I got into position. "Three, go!"
We both took off. At first, Normani was in front of me since I was saving my energy. I soon got faster, leveling up with Normani. I heard people clapping and cheering us on. Our feet pounded against the pavement, our breathing heavy. I then pushed my legs, blowing pass Normani and taking off. I felt the wind across my face and blowing my hair back. When we got to where we started, I came to a stop, putting my hands behind my head to breathe.
"Holy cow!" the gym coach came up to me. "You ever thought about running track? What's your name?"
"Y/N Smith," I replied. "And nah, track isn't for me."
"Damn," he mumbled. "You would've been one hell of a player."
"Thanks," I watched as he walked away, and Normani soon came to a stop.
"Jesus Christ," she said, out of breath as she panted. "How are you so fucking fast?"
I shrugged, "Practice."
I glanced over to the crowd of people, spotting Camila. We've been texting since yesterday afternoon and all morning. She smiled at me, approaching us.
"Hey," she said. "Pretty fast."
"Pretty face," I replied without thinking, causing her to blush.
"Thank you," she murmured, shyly grinning. I smiled and nodded, looking at Normani to see her looking at us.
I then remembered that she's best friends with Lauren. She just smiled at the two of us and walked away. I turned to Camila and we began to walk the track.
"You always been able to run that fast?" Camila inquired, looking up at me.
"I didn't start running until I was thirteen," I truthfully replied.
"Really?" she furrowed her eyebrows, and I nodded. "Most people start running at like, six."
I shrugged, glancing down at the ground, then back to Camila, "I had some setbacks. That's all."
Camila nodded, "Oh."
We walked in silence for a few minutes, until I finally asked her something,
"We should hangout sometime, yeah? Like after school?" I scratched the back of my neck.
Camila smiled, "Definitely. When and where?"
I was about to say my house, but then remembered Lauren lived next door, and I had no parents.
"Your house? After school today?" I asked.
"Yeah, sure," she grinned. "I'll text you my address."
The gym coach blew his whistle, signaling it's time for us to go back inside and change back into our school clothes.
"Okay," I smiled.
"Okay,"

When Camila got home, she immediately informed her mother that they'll be having a guest for dinner. Then she ran upstairs and began to clean her room, excitement running through her body.
As she was doing so, the familiar ringtone played through her phone. She found her phone, seeing Dinah requesting to FaceTime. Camila answered and propped it up on her desk.
"Yeah?"
"Hey!" Dinah's voice boomed. "What cha doing?"
"Cleaning my room," Camila replied. "Y/N is coming over."
"No fucking way? You're serious? I'm coming over to help," Dinah replied. "What time is she coming over?"
"Six,"
"I'm on my way,"

I knocked on Reese's door, hearing her telling me to come in. I opened the door, seeing her doing her homework.
"Hey kiddo," I leaned against the doorway. "What cha doing?"
"Math homework," she mumbled.
"Oh," I nodded. "Well I'm going over to Camila's house for dinner. Do you need anything?"
"Ooh, meeting the parents already?" Reese teased, wiggling her eyebrows as she looked up. "You can't wear that."
I looked down at my outfit, black skinny jeans, a black muscle tee, and black vans.
I frowned, "Why not?"
"Change the shirt, wear your black and red flannel," she told me. "And brush your hair again. And your teeth."
"So you don't need anything?" I asked. "Like money for food?"
"I need a twenty," she said. "I'm ordering pizza again." I nodded, taking out a twenty and handing it to her. "Have fun."
"Good luck on your homework," I responded. "If you need anything, call me."
She nodded as I closed the door. I sighed, walking into my room. I was still slightly worried about Reese, because of last night. But she seemed fine, and we didn't bring it up, so I'm guessing it's all good.
I brushed my teeth, then took my shirt off. I got my red and black flannel out, putting it on. I then brushed my hair again. I grabbed my car keys and phone, yelled bye, and left the house.
As I pulled out the driveway, I glanced over at Lauren's house, then shook my head.

When the clock hit five-thirty, Camila had ushered Dinah out, thanking her.
Camila now wore tight blue skinny jeans that showed off her butt, a black crop top, and black shoes.
Camila heard the doorbell ring, and looked at herself through the mirror, then jogged downstairs.
She swung the door open and smiled, "Hey. Come in."
