Bytes: Dawn of the Apocalypse

"Did you just say something, Hunter?" Jeana asked, still riding her horse in the same speed.

"Nothing," Hunter answered, smiling while he pulled his hat down, hoping to not get caught in a situation like this.

Leaving Angosto, they headed south to a city called Stuxus, their next destination to find new recruits.

Right when they were just about to enter the Stuxus area...

"Attack!" an unfamiliar voice commanded as a squad of infantries ambushed the unprepared Husks.

"Run!" Jeana ordered, withdrawing her iron sword in case she needed it.

Alexis and Hunter followed her, Hunter with his iron sword in hand.

"Faster, Gale!" he commanded, forcing his horse to its maximum speed.

"Archers, shoot!" the voice from before signed, letting several poisoned arrows fly in the air, all aimed at Hunter.

An arrow hit Hunter's horse.

It grunted in pain as the poison spread throughout its body.

"GALE!"

The miserable creature's limbs darted around like crazy. He desperately ran away as far as he could, his sanity almost gone.

Hunter steered the horse, trying his best to keep running straight ahead and balance it.

"You're gonna be okay. Just hold on a bit longer!" Hunter assured, though still very worried about his beloved horse.

He clenched his jaws and held onto Gale, tight.

Seemingly understanding Hunter's feelings for him, he did its best to escape the deadly ambush.

They started nearing a tall grass field.

Gale's sturdy feet forced themselves to charge forwards, not wanting to lose his master.

He landed each step as fast as he could, but very carefully, hoping to not fall down in the middle of the pursuit.

He paced his breathing and kept it stable, so that he wouldn't lose his breath and collapse.

His spirit of loyalty was blazing deep inside his heart, for his love to Hunter and all the times they had spent together.

Every single arrow that was shot had missed them, the tall grass being a strategic advantage.

Hunter was soon gaining on the rest of the Husks.

"Nice one, Hunter! I never thought you'd catch up that fast!" Alexis exclaimed, starting to ride his horse in a slower pace.

"Yeah, my horse is really tough," he complimented Gale for doing his best.

Alexis tilted his head around, "Lightning strike! I think we lost them," he announced as the soldiers faded into the horizon.

Their horses treaded slowly on the smooth pavement of the city they had just arrived in, which was...

Well, much like any other city you'd find in the world of Minecraft.

The weather and the atmosphere didn't felt quite different, except the fact that the city was slightly busier.

Some houses were made of stained clay, some were merely wooden...

Though it had been more modern than Angosto, Alexis and Hunter had found less interest in this city.

That's too mainstream. Also, nothing's really special in the architecture here.

This place doesn't seem really peaceful. Nothing actually catches my attention, too.

I bet you know who thought about which already, if you correctly read the story from the beginning.

*pats myself on the back for the characters having distinct characteristics*

"You can go look for this new recruit fellow. I'll.. Stay here with Gale," Hunter said, getting off his horse and treating its wounds.

Meanwhile, back at somewhere near the tall grass field...

"Curses! We lost them!" one of the soldiers muttered in frustration, failing to capture the target.

"Why could that horse possibly not fall down, right when my arrow hit it?" another soldier asked confusedly, not understanding the strong bonds that had kept Gale's spirit burning.

"No, it was my arrow!"

"I was the one who shot it!"

"No, that was definitely me!"

"SILENCE!" A deep, husky voice echoed over the petty commotion.

Their commander exploded in anger, leaving the whole squad regretting being very noisy.

"They are entering Stuxus," he started.

"The Fourth Squad will surely kill them."

My schedule had been really messy and school had started, so I dunno what's gonna happen to this book now.

I'll try my best.

Well anyway, Hunter is starting to become more of a likable character, isn't he? I think he's even becoming kinda like the main character.. Please let me know about these.
