"So, where did you send the bodyguard to?" Alice asked.
"I told him that your father sent me specifically to watch over you and that he was no longer needed. He left without question." Loki replied.
"A very gullible man. He wouldn't have done a good job protecting me then." Alice grinned.
"No, he wouldn't have." Loki smirked.
"And you will?" She posed as she raised her brow.
"Of course." He replied with a smile.
Soon after, the music picked up again and Loki furrowed his brow as he watched Alice dance before him to music he did not know the steps to.
"Midgardian dancing is much different than Asgard's." Loki chuckled.
"You'll get used to it. Come on. All you have to do is loosen your body and feel the music." Alice told him.
She took his hands in hers and he looked down at her feet, trying to follow along with her. Soon enough, the music changed again and Loki was able to ease into it. He looked down at Alice as he wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her to his chest. She swayed her hips from side to side and Loki followed along with her. He looked down at her with hooded eyes and Alice panted softly as she smiled up at him. She felt his grip on her tighten and she lost herself in the music, Loki's warm breath against her neck, and his hand gripping onto the waist of her dress. She stopped dancing and Loki furrowed his brow at her as they were occasionally bumped into by the other guests. He took her chin in between his thumb and forefinger and lifted her head up to face him.
"What's wrong?" Loki asked.
"Nothing. Nothing's wrong." Alice replied.
"Then why did you stop dancing?" He questioned her.
Alice took a deep breath as she quickly glanced down at his lips and then back up at his eyes. She took his face in her hands and pulled him into a kiss. Loki's eyes widened from being caught off guard, but he soon melted into the kiss, closing his eyes and wrapping his arms around her. They kissed several more times before pulling back from one another. Alice licked her lips and chuckled lightly as Loki smiled brightly.
"I'm sorry, Loki. I was selfish." She told him.
"Do not apologize. You have every right to be selfish, Alice, after everything you've been through. I am the one who should be...sorry." Loki explained.
"But you were right. I have no knowledge of what Asgard is like. Asgard's culture is completely different from mine that I would have absolutely no idea what's going." Alice protested.
"And you were right as well. You have every means of being able to defend yourself. I was being an idiot. Can you forgive me?" He inquired.
"Yes. Can you forgive me?" She retorted.
"I can." Loki replied.
The two shared a quick kiss before making their way to the table and being served their dinner. They ate their meal and spent the rest of the party talking, laughing, and drinking the night away as Marilyn opened her gifts and celebrated her birthday. As the guests, who could not stay over, were leaving, Loki looked at Alice and furrowed his brow, wondering why she wasn't leaving to go home.
"Aren't we to return to the base?" Loki asked.
"It's an overnight stay." Alice grinned.
Loki smirked as he took a step closer to Alice and licked his lips.
"Will I be permitted to get my own room or will you be willing to share?" Loki inquired softly.
"If you're good...I'll share." She winked.
