Belle's POV
I woke up to nothing. There was no sound at all. Which was weird because it was my birthday and they usually wake me up by yelling happy birthday in my room. I frowned and walked downstairs. Still no sign of them. I saw a note on the fridge and I pulled it off.
'Hey, Bellie! We all went to the store to get something special for you! We will be home before you know it!' I sighed and set the note down on the table.
As I was sitting down to eat, I heard a knock at the door. I frowned and walked toward the door. Maybe mum forgot her keys again. I yanked open the door and saw a huge man standing in front of me. I screamed and backed away from the door, falling as I tripped over the welcome mat. I shifted away from the door, breathing heavily as the man bends down.
"Oh no, sorry to spook yeh miss Belle! I just came to wish yeh a happy birthday, that's all." The man's voice was very sincere and worried.
I frowned, still quite spooked. "H-how did you know it was my birthday?"
The man gave a hearty laugh. "Why, o' course you would wonder. A strange man, knowin' the birthday of you, Miss Belle."
My head tilted to the side. "And you know my name?"
The man smiled a friendly smile. "I know this is strange for yeh but I can promise, there is a very good reason for this." He looked around. "Uh, Belle? May I, uh, please come in? Your neighbors are startin' to stare."
I stands quickly. "Oh! Of course! I'm so sorry..." I trailed off as I didn't catch his name.
"Oh, blimey! Don't tell me I forgot again!" He smacked himself in the forehead. "My name is Rubeus Hagrid, Groundskeeper at Hogwarts. But you may call me Hagrid." He smiled and walked into the house, his head skimming the ceiling.
I point to our couch and smile, "Well, Hagrid. Would you like to take a seat? We can wait for my parents together."
Hagrid smiled. "Thanks for the offer, Belle, but I'll just get my own chair, as to not break yer lovely couch." He pulled out a tattered umbrella and pointed it at an empty spot in the living room. A spark and suddenly a big chair sat where it had just been empty.
I stared with wonder in my eyes. "H-how did you do that?" Was this man the creator of the letter? "Um, I'm very sorry to ask but, did you create this letter?" I pull the Hogwarts letter from my back pocket.
Hagrid laughs. "I'm flattered yeh think so highly of me. But sadly, no. That would be the Headmaster, Albus Dumbledore. Greatest man to walk the earth."
I looked down. "Hagrid-" I stopped as I heard a car door slam outside. "My mum is going to kill me." I looked at Hagrid in his seat. "Stay there. I'll be back." I ran toward the door in my slippers, opening it. I blocked my mother from coming in. "Hey, mum."
She smiled, holding a small bag. "Hello, Bellie. Did you sleep good?"
I nodded. "Um, mum. I have a friend over and I don't want you to be upset when you see him."
My father frowned, walking up behind my mother. "Belle, what is this about a 'him'?"
I shook my head, "Just please don't be mad."
My mum tried to get in and I blocked her. She tried again, and I moved to block her again. She sighed. "Belle, move. Let us in." She gently pushed me out of the way and walked in, my father and sibling following her. I winced as I heard her scream.
