“Bebe, this is going far from training. Let’s just take a deep breath, and let’s get started on the actual training.”
I give him a nasty look. “Why are you point your gun at me? Why not Bebe? What, is she your girlfriend?”
Shane’s head snaps up at this, and Shiny turns bright red. Bebe laughs out loud, and then pushes Wendy off of her. She stands up and tells Shiny to put the gun down. She walks to a bag on the ground and grabs a water bottle. She drinks half of the bottle, and then she walks back to the light switch.
“You need to learn to work in darkness. You need to make sure you aren’t attacking your partner when you think you’re attacking a secret agent.”
She turns the lights off. “Alright, what I want you four to do is-“
“This is stupid, Bebe,” Shane says, and even though we’re in darkness, I can tell he’s rolling his eyes. “You can’t tell just by a feeling that it’s your partner or your attacker. You tried teaching this crap to us, and it didn’t work.”
I hear footsteps starting to walk toward me, and soon, I hear the sound of wind being sliced, and then the sound of Shane swearing loudly. Bebe laughs and walks past both of us, and soon, she speaks again.
“I want Alex to find Sloane, and Eric you find Wendy. Wendy and Sloane, I want you two to go anywhere in the room and stand there that way Eric and Alex don’t go right where they saw you before I turned the lights off. Go.”
I go to the corner of the room, and stand there. I hear Eric apologize for running into someone, and when nobody responds, he starts laughing out loud and says he ran into a wall. After another minute, I smell cologne. It’s a faint hint, and soon a hand touches my face. I stiffen even though I can tell it’s Alex.
He drops his hand and calls out in the darkness. “I found Sloane.”
After another second, Eric calls out he has Wendy. The lights go back on, and then I realize how close Alex actually is to me. He stares at me for a split second, and I slide away from the wall to get some paces away from him.
Shane is holding his jaw, and giving Bebe a crossed look. Bebe glances at all of us, not impressed. “It took you two long enough.”
Wendy smirks, getting a good dirty look from Bebe. Shane saunters over to Bebe, laughing out loud. “Seriously, Bebe, this is the worst exercise you could’ve ever come up with. What you need them to do is remember each of their partners scent.”
“Excuse me?” Bebe asks angrily.
“You’re excused,” Shane replies back, pushing her out of her spot. He took her place, and speaks to us, “No matter what, all four of you have a scent. Per say, when I was fighting Sloane I noticed she smelled like kiwis because of her hair. I smelled Eric’s hair gel, which by the way, reeks. And Alex smells like leather, which I have no idea why.”
Alex gives him an odd look, and I snort. Shane raises his eyebrow at me, calling me out for my snort. I roll my eyes at him and cross my arms. “And why were you smelling my hair, Shane? Hoping I was Bebe?”
Bebe makes a grunt in distaste, and Shane blushes, but tries to act it off as if it were nothing. I hear Alex sniffling next to me, and then I felt something in my hair. I turn to my left, and see Alex way too close to me.
“He’s right, Sloane, you do.”
My fist clenches to my side, and for once, I wished I didn’t buy kiwi shampoo and conditioner. If I knew it’d make such a big deal, I’d buy an unscented one. I glance over and see Wendy staring expectantly at Eric, waiting for him to identify her scent.
