the sudden, gut-wrenching sound of a scream echoed through the now crimson-stained walls; a bloodied, fist-shaped mark smearing carnivorously across the tiles as the white-eyed corpse of a guard dropped to the frosted ground. "what happened to minimal casualties?" dan muttered under his ghostly breath as the grinning, raven-haired man beside him huffed deeply. "what happened to a bit of fun?" phil scoffed; earning a wry chuckle from the brunette as they turned briskly to watch the pitting argument between chris and tyler.
"do you want to get your fucking head blown off or something? it's not that hard to follow the damn rules, kendall," the silver-haired man hissed, letting toxic abhorrence drip off his words as he bared his teeth. "weren't you just convincing us all to 'have some fun' while we're out?" chris spat, his stained fingers tightening in his clenched fists. "yeah, i meant kill a few guards, not suggest blowing up the fucking monitor room when we have bombs in our damn necks!" tyler growled; the raging brunette's chapped lips parting before both bodies felt themselves instinctively ducking backwards when a sharp blow of misting ice brushed past them.
frosted gashes burned across their touched shoulders as they winced backwards, a taunting smirk tempting to peak at the corners of hazel's murderous lips as she walked towards the slick, metal doors. "you're wasting time," she grumbled, a hint of cockiness laced over her words. "you're tellin' me," zoe grinned, skipping past the blue-tinted lips and widened eyes plastered across the two convict's expressions. dan quirked an eyebrow as he stepped through the ghostly fog caking the murky oxygen of the asylum, the smirking, ebony-haired man chuckling as he followed behind him. connor skulked hesitantly behind the two darker-haired men, kicking at the chipped metal and blood-stained name tags as he walked.
"yahtzee!" zoe cheered, her murderous irises glinting as her painted mallet collided with the thick layer of ice overlaying the door with an echoing bang! a smile etched across dan's lips as his bloodthirsty fingers wrapped themselves around the chilled gun lying in his pocket; phil's bared fists raising in front of him as he licked his chapped lips. a grin of temptation phased across zoe's stained lips as she continued to throw all of her strength into the hammer's blow; leaving a series of tainted dents in the frosted metal. "franta," dan muttered sharply, turning to meet the apprehensive gaze of the shorter brunette.
"can i count on you to watch my back?" he questioned, cocking his gun as connor rolled his eyes. "we're convicted murderers and thieves, you think any of us are gonna 'watch your back?'" he scoffed, his tremulous hands rubbing together in front of him as dan could've sworn he saw a flash of something red- something more than blood thirst -collapse over his viridescent irises. the taller brunette smirked, "yeah, that's exactly what i think."
a sharp inhale of wheezing ventilation systems and the unmistakable taste of iron coating the air intoxicated phil's lungs as he breathed in, his multifaceted irises glossing with the same deadly craving that infused his stained knuckles. "oakley, kendall, security!" dan shouted, the uneven pattering of footsteps nearing their location as he raised his gun in front of him. zoe's eyes darted behind her, hesitantly meeting the brunette's gaze as he gave her a nod.
"now," he mouthed; the pink-smeared hammer colliding against the- now slammed open -door at the exact moment of the security's arrival and the sharp wisp of ghostly air leaking out from dan's gun. a silver-tinged bullet pierced the skull of a brunette worker as another dropped to the bloodied tiles, the team striding past the pile of singed bodies that trailed behind their murderous footsteps. phil's dripping fists slammed the dented metal back into place, encompassing them inside the garish remains of their skills and the metallic taste of blood.
"i thought you were only allowed to use rubber bullets," tyler muttered as he skimmed his fingertips across his dripping knife. a smirk crawled across the marksman's face as he turned around, meeting the cold irises of the white-haired man. "i am."
"howell?!" a shrilled voice suddenly pierced his ear, causing the brunette to wince back as he rolled his eyes. "yeah, pentland? is our work not to your liking?" he spat, earning a stifled laugh from phil as the team adjusted their booming earpieces. "how's it like playing leader?" she scoffed, sarcasm dripping off her sweet words as dan dragged his tongue between his teeth. "if i didn't need ligouri as much as i do, you'd all be nothing more than some brains splattered on the damn wall," louise growled threateningly, earning a smirk from the jet black-haired man as he chewed on his bottom lip slyly.
"don't worry, we'll play a loop," dan shrugged wryly. "until next time-" he began, before hearing a monotone static. "lovely as always," chris muttered under his breath, before flinching down upon hearing the sudden firing squad begin shooting at the blood-smeared door. dan quirked an eyebrow hesitantly, earning the acute attention of the team as they stood silently. "hazel, chris," he began after a moment, "reinforce the door. oakley, program a loop in the security footage. the last damn thing we need are the cops here. zoe, connor, use the ventilation and get us access to something big that flys."
his voice ceased as he ran his fingers through his hair. "we good?" he murmured under his breath, instantaneously sending everyone to compliance. "what about us?" phil exhaled deeply, cracking his scraped knuckles as his blood-tinged irises flickered to meet dan's.
"we get ligouri."
