18. Cheater.

Black eyed River back. "I'm Black Fire of Darkbolt. Nice to meet you." he said with no emotion and extended his hand for River to shake.

River raised an eyebrow but accepted his hand. "River Fall of Moonlight. And we'll see if it's nice to meet you."

You go River! Show him who's the boss.

Those two were glaring at each other for 2 minutes now and I'm starting to get annoyed.

"Can we go and eat?? We get it! You two have a stare down for the alpha position but you can finish it at the cafeteria because I'm starving!!" Sparky shouted and pushed both of them away from each other.

"Fine." River said still glaring at Black.

"Thank God. Shads, the last one is a strategy idiot!!" Sparky shouted and fly in direction of the stairs.

"CHEATER!!!" I screamed and flied after her.

If running through the forest was fun, flying through a sea of students, slaloming through them, it was way more fun. Especially on the stairs.

"HA! I wined!" Sparky started to do a victory dance.

I scoffed. "Because you cheated!!!"

"Do you have a proof?"

"YES! The boys were there! They can tell that you cheated!"

"I don't think so, but let's ask them."

We turned around exactly when they arrived here.

"Guys! Is it true that Sparky cheated?" I asked with my arms crossed.

"Or is it true that Shads doesn't know how to lose at a fair game?" she said with her arms crossed too.

I raised my hands exasperated. "Fair my ass!"

"Who is for S's variant hands up." Hazel said and he, Flame and Sky raised their hands.

"Now, for Sparky's variant." now Ash, Lincoln and River raised their hands.

Black was the one who didn't voted.

"Come on dude. You are one of us now. Choose a side." Hazel said and waited for his answer.

That little fucker looked at me and smirked. "I think Sparky is right."

"I TOLD YOU LOSER!!" she screamed and ruffled my hair.

I slapped her hands away and I was so close to slap her and Black.

I don't get mad if I lose at something. To be honest I don't really care, but when someone cheats, win and shoves it in my face.....We have a big problem.

I was taking deep breaths trying to calm myself down and not cut the current in whole this school. I was the first one at our table as I dropped myself on the seat between Hazel and Black.

"Come on, S. You already are a winner. Who cares about a stupid race?" Hazel tried to make me feel better and put an arm around my shoulder.

"I do." I said through clenched teeth.

I fished my lunch from my bag and I started to eat.

"Hey, Shads. Can I have some muffles?" Sparky asked me with puppy eyes.

I smiled at her. "No."

She blinked twice before she said "Oh." and left me alone.

I ate my waffles and 2 sandwiches in silence while the others were talking and joking. Except Sparky that was looking at me with 'I'm sorry' eyes and Black that I could feel him staring at me.

When the bell rang, I was the first one to leave. I know that maybe I was overacting but I really hate when I lose in favor of someone who cheated.

"Light! Wait!"

I turned around to see Black running after me.

"What? Sorry. I didn't mean it to sound like that." I apologized when I heard on what dead cold tone I talked.

"It's fine. And I came after you because I'm new here and you are the only person I know."

"I'm new here too. And you know the rest of the guys too."

He scowled. "Yeah. Like River that hates me for some reason."

"Maybe he knows that you're a dark too." I could hold myself back from telling that.

He sighed exasperated. "For the last time. I'm not a dark you idiot!"

"Whatever helps you sleep at night my dear Black." I said as I opened the door that leads us to our next class. Flying how I call it short.

Like it happened at the exam, when I stepped into the room I was automatically changed in a gym gear. I was wearing a black t-shirt with lightning bolts on it, some black shorts and my own shoes. I looked at Black and he has the same outfit like me except that he has flames on his t-shirt.

And he looks better than you in this gear . I mean look how the t-shirt looks like it's about to pop from his fine muscles.

Shut the fuck up.

We walked side by side in the middle of the field where a woman no older than 30 was standing with a whistle around her neck.

"Listen up losers! I'm Mrs. Stone and you already know what this class it's about so let's get started. Today we'll learn how important is to have good reflexes while falling. You will have to jump from that cliff" she points at the cliff that is behind her "and right when you are about to hit the ground you'll have to make a sharp turn and fly back up. Oh, and the ground is full of sharp rocks so don't miss or you'll be in a coma. Now move your asses losers." she whistles so loud that my ears started to ring. 

I walked in front of the cliff and looked down. She said sharp rocks? More likely very big and very sharp rocks. I think that those rocks are taller than me.

For the second time in my life I was scared as hell. Why? Because 1. I'm afraid of sharp things like needles and sharp rocks that can put me in a coma and 2. at the exam even if you would've missed the turn, you would've just fall on the ground, but now....

I gulped the nod I had in my neck.

"Scared?"

I looked up at Black and he was smirking down at me. Not my fault that he is a giant and that I barley reach his shoulder.

"No, yes, maybe. NO. Okay, maybe a little." I said looking back down.

"You? Scared? The girl that was one step closer to chopping my head off when I scared her in the woods, is scared of a little jump?" he teased me.

Little jump? Is he blind or something?

"Yes, I am. So what? I'm a person too you know." I said still staring at the deadly rocks.

"You'll be fine idiot. Just do what you did at exam. Now, if you excuse me." he said and jumped off the cliff.

My heart was beating like crazy just looking at him. He was falling with high speed and exactly when he was about to be made to look like a Schweitzer, he took a sharp turn and flied back next to me.

I was staring at him with my mouth open.

"Close your mouth or I'll close it and jump." he said and pushed me gently.

I blushed a little at his comment by I closed my mouth.

Okay, let's do this. If I die, Arnold I love you!!

Here goes nothing. I thought and I jumped.
