What Lies Inside (Gaster!Sans x Reader )

Your Pov

Obviously Gaster asked G to stop, but why? Papyrus is dead, G pap the innocent man who only wanted the best for me died right in front of me. What happy ending is left? I'm probably going to bleed to death, no one will help me after they figure out what happen to Pap. Was this always my fate? Papyrus died because I was being selfish, I wanted to save everyone when I knew damn well that I can't save anyone. Hope, something I used to have in getting out of here but really death was the only thing that was ever certain. I headed into this secluded cave where I will live out the rest of my pitiful life. My leg wasn't going to stop bleeding anytime soon, I was going incredibly tired so I decided to sleep.

Dreams -------

Waking up I realize I'm no longer in the cave I feel asleep in but I was in the judgement hall. "Well fuck, it seems everything shitty happens here." Looking around I was met with window and the Undergrounds insignia, the prophecy.

"The prophecy has led us to believe that one day an angel who has seen the surface will fall into the Underground who will free the entire Underground but it can also mean the Angel of death, they've seen the surface and the kill the entire Underground. Which one are you?"

Standing in front of me is Sans, short, pun-loving, lazy, secretive, and mysterious skeleton Sans standing in front of me. But he wasn't the Sans encountered on a few occasions, this one reeked of death, anger, and sadness.

Attempting to stand I realize my leg is still fucked so I sit on the ground looking to the skeleton who struck a chord within me. "Whatcha doing here Sans?"

"Which one are you?"

"What?"

"Are you the angel of death, or are you the Angel of mercy?"

Thinking about it I realize that I don't know the answer, what if I do murder everyone? I managed to kill Papyrus, but that was accidental. Saying sorry doesn't always magically fix things. But then again, I don't think I can liberate an entire species.

"I don't know."

"You don't know? What do you mean you don't know?" Sans was puzzled and slightly angered by my answer.

"I don't know, I've already killed someone but it was accidental, also I know that no apology can make up for a lost life. Freedom is something that is just beyond our reach, I want to free everyone but I just lost hope I've come to the conclusion that i'm going to die down here." Looking up at the skeleton his face was sad, his forever smile was low. Since he didn't say anything I continued.

"Papyrus said he believed in me, that one statement made me believe in myself. That one statement fills me with determination, so you can't count on me to the saint and save everyone, but you can count that I'll try my best to save as many people as I can from the wrath of Chara and my inner demons. I don't know what will happen in the future but, I'm not living for me anymore."

Sans looked to me with a smile on his face, he wasn't mad? Walking over to me Sans knelt down and embraced me, I was surprised but I hugged back. I laughed to myself, he stills smells like the house on pine wood and ketchup.

"What's funny kiddo?" He pulled back looking at me with and eyebrow rose, I always thought it was funny how animated Sans was. "You still smell like pine and ketchup." He laughed at me, we both sat there for a while. "I'm proud of you kiddo ya know that? I know that you miss me, I miss you too. G still loves you though, I'll have a talk with him." Laughing we both lean over and bump foreheads, we look up locking eyes.

We kiss, a long passionate kiss. I wrap my arms around his neck and we pull away looking into each other's eyes. "I've wanted to do that forever, thank you for fulfilling a dream that has been mine since forever." I nod, Sans was always my dream guy but I guess we weren't meant to be together. Perhaps in another life.

"Sans, I hope in another life I can be with you but in this one..." I shake my head and laugh at myself. "I already have a stubborn, hotheaded, annoying, flirtatious, caring, numbskull." We laugh again, still in our embrace.

"I guess you're the one that got away."

"It seems so."

"Alright kiddo, I think it's time you returned to the real world."

"Wait is this another mindscape?"

"Yup. You were brought here for judgement, I am the judge. If you failed to pass you would've died in the real world, and you be stuck in the void forever."

"Oh so that's why my leg is still messed up."

"Yeah"

Picking me up bridal style Sans carries me to the other door on the the other side of the corridor, I blushed from being carried causing him to laugh at me.

"Alright, see ya later...(Y/n)."

A/n: Sans x Reader action,  This chapter had to be by far my favorite one to write. That speech I made for you was bomb asf and I made that up all on the fly , best writer of the year should go to me Jae.
