“Yeah, yeah it’s nothing. What are you doing here? Doesn’t Elvis have you on a tight leash?”

Skye shrugged and leaned against the grimy tiled walls. “He’s in a weirdly good mood today, but I couldn’t exactly ask him what was up.”

Justin didn’t seem at all happy, instead he broke out into a cold sweat and his face turned a deathly pale shade.

“Um, are you okay?” Skye hesitated.

Justin nodded and smiled weakly.

“Yeah, I’m fine. How are you though, I saw how he kissed you on stage. So fucking sick,” Justin seethed.

Skye shrugged, “It was my fault, I thought that girl, Ginger, was someone I knew so I called out to her and he heard me.”

“Who did you think she was?” asked Justin inquisitively.

Skye shook her head and whispered, “Camilla.”

Justin nodded solemnly.

Skye’s eyes unintentionally darted to the direction of the stage.

“I miss her,” she whispered to herself. Suddenly, she felt tears brimming in the corner of her eyes.

“You’ll see her again, I promise,” Justin whispered back.

He looked a lot more serious than usual.

Skye continued staring at the door, willing herself not to cry. She dug her nails into her palm and said bitterly,

“You know I was always jealous of her and I hated her so much for having our parent’s affection, but now I miss her so much, it’s incredible.”

Justin nodded his head, but didn’t know what to say, thankfully Skye changed the subject.

“So whatsup, how’s school and such?”

Skye wiped away the tears in her eyes and tried to appear calm.

Justin shrugged and stared at her with his laughter-filled eyes.

“Same as always, but hey I think I made a friend.”

Skye arched her eyebrows in interest.

“Friends? You? Tell me more.”

Justin chuckled and looked mock serious, “Hey, I make a lot of friends.”

Skye laughed and said, “Seriously though. Tell me everything.”

Justin turned around and put the chicken into the large oven.

“So since Mrs. Thomas thinks I’m the best student and such a goodie two shoes she’s making me shadow this kid, Ace.”

“Ace? Isn’t that like the most popular kid in school or whatever?” Skye asked, trying to remember him from the many stories Justin told her about his school.

“Yeah, that’s the weird thing. At first we didn’t like each other than we started smoking together and doing all other sort of drugs and we’re actually cool now.”

Skye’s smile turned into a frown.

“Justin, you know how I feel about drugs. Where did you get that stuff anyway?”

“Well from me of course,” said an overly loud, authoritative voice.

Skye turned around to face the man she hated the most in this world. Elvis teetered down the blue linoleum with a bottle of Absolut Vodka in his hand.

“Oh look at you two, so adorable! Like the princess and the frog, except you’ll probably always stay like this and never blossom into a handsome prince,” Elvis snickered.
