The Last Rain Drop

Lucy's perspective

We walk down steps that lead to a tunnel. Looking around, everything is pitch black. Natsu holds out his hand and fire starts. It's so creepy down here, and I can hear creatures racing around. Their little feet and nails hitting the floor as they scurry past our feet. I flinch and pull my foot away; jumping back. I can hear Natsu laugh at me "hey! It's not funny!" I pout "suuuuurrrreee Lucy" he says sarcastically. I frown at him which causes Happy and Natsu to burst out laughing. "Hmph!" I sigh as I walk away. When I know he can't see I smile a small tiny smile to myself. I'd hate to admit it. And I never will, but I do kinda enjoy when he teases me.
The farther we walk the more unsafe I feel. Something is wrong and I can't put my finger on it. Natsu still is leading the way. I feel so tired, and with this darkness, it's almost like my eyes don't have to close for me to sleep. I need energy, and I need some soon; weather that be from tea or coffee or sleep. Although I seriously doubt there is any tea of coffee anywhere near by down here. I need sleep. Badly. But if I can keep going, then I'll get some in a while. So it'll be fine. I can make it. Hopefully...
       I stumble over my feet and fall to the damp ground. Even though it's cold and wet, I don't have energy to get up. Maybe I can just sleep here for a bit...no! I have to get up and keep moving. But I just can't summon the energy. I hear Natsu turn around and hear him gasp. "Lucy?! What's wrong?" He bends down and shakes me. I'm lying on my front with my face pressed to the ground, it's uncomfortable and I can't breath very well. But I'm so tired...
      I feel Natsu lift me up as Happy continues to try and shake me awake and ask what's wrong. I'm so tired. My eyes are closed but I'm trying desperately to stay awake. Eventually I have to lose though. It's too tough, before I pass out I hear Natsu tell Happy that I'm fine, and probably just tired. He sets me down and I can feel his body heat next to me.

      When I wake up again I feel so much better. I don't feel nearly as drained. I turn my head and find Natsu asleep next to me. Happy is resting peacefully on his stomach. A small smile tugs at my lips, they're so cute. I rest my head on Natsu's shoulder and fall asleep again.
      The next time I open my eyes Natsu and Happy are awake. They were shaking me trying to get me to wake. "Finally!" Happy exaggerates. "You've been sleeping forever".
"Sorry," I reply "I was just so tired"
"No need to worry, you look adorable when you sleep. And you kept talking about the payment" Natsu retorts. I blush deeply. I really wish he hadn't heard that. I don't even remember dreaming about that.
We walk back, we had found nothing so what was the point in continuing to search? Walking through the dark I feel the same feeling as before, that something is very wrong. Panic grabs me and I push it down. I'm probably overthinking this. We step out into the moonlight; It's now nighttime. The stars are out and the town has a blue tint to it. It's very beautiful. I look into the sky and see the moon peeking through the clouds that hide it. Natsu is staring at the sky as well. No one talks for a bit, I don't think anyone wants to ruin the moment. But then, like all moments, it ends. I guess that's just what happens though, because if this moment never ends, how would the next one start?
I hear a whistle and something shoots me in the shoulder. Pain erupts through my shoulder and I suppress a scream. Natsu turns to see me clutching my shoulder. I pull out a dart. A dart? Why a dart? My legs go out and my vision blurs. What's happening? Was that dart something to make me get knocked out? Why? Natsu rushes to the person who shot it. The only problem is that I can't even see who shot it. I hear another whistle and after a few seconds I see Natsu pulling out three knock out darts. That's so many. I watch a shooting star pass by. My brain keeps wandering and I can't stay in the moment. Natsu...I need to check and see if he's ok! I force my gaze to him. He lays crumpled on the ground. Natsu, I'm sorry! I need to try though! I can't go out like this!
      I hear footsteps approach MOVE! I try and command my body to get up. I need to help Natsu! I need to escape! I lift my head up and stand. It takes a few tries and I keep falling down. I'm so tired and I can't focus no matter how hard I try. What's wrong with me...? My eyes water and my vision blurs. The person who must've shot the dart wears black jeans and a red V-neck T-shirt. He stands out so much it's a mystery that we didn't see him.
      I try to run to Natsu to help but the guy grabs me and yanks me by my right hand towards him. I don't have much strength anymore and I tumble to him. He switches from my hand to my wrist and I close my eyes. I just need to think. And I'm so tired. I can't focus...I...I just need to think. Everything is becoming a blur and I can't remember much. It's all hazy. There's something wrong. But I can't think. What is it...? I open my eyes again and nothing is in focus. Everything is just one big blob. My body feels so heavy, and my head, so light...I need to fight! The thought just pops into my head. But why? I can't remember what's going on. Natsu? I remember he needs me. Something's wrong!
      I try and squirm out of the persons grasp. I end up relaxing though. I have absolutely no energy left. I fall back but the guy catches me. He picks me up and starts to carry me off. No, Natsu...please help! Help me Natsu! I can't move. I can't do anything anymore. I'm so helpless. I'm sorry I couldn't help you, I really tried! I'm sorry! I fall limp in the guys arms and everything fades to darkness.
