Once I got home to pack my mom suddenly questioned me.
"Was it nice out? Did anything happen? Where are you going?"
I hesitated to answer, happy she didn't ask what happened. "U-Umm, it feels great out! And nothing that interesting happened... But I'm going out for the night with a friend!" I smiled.
"Who?" She asked with her cold eyes, and warm smile. "It's uhh,... Sugino..." I lied.
"Alright, have fun! I'll call you soon."
"No! Wait! I'll call you, if anything happens! You can trust me, right? Hehe..."
She sighed giving in. "I guess that's fine..."
I relaxed and dashed upstairs. I shoved some clothes in a bag and some stuff I needed. After that I said 'Goodbye' to my mom and ran for Karma's house.
I knocked on his door looking at my feet. My heart skipped once I realized I forgot to change out of my skirt. The door swung open and I flinched in surprise. I started to feel hot from embarrassment.
"Nagisa, your still-"
"I know!" I interrupted. "I forgot..." I sighed. I saw him chuckle as he let me in.
His home was very large, and pretty. He was from a wealthy family after all. "We're are your parents?" Karma smiled as he closed the door. "My parents are never home anymore, so I just chill here! Plus I got a maid three months ago! I forgot to tell you that..."
"Huh?!" I looked around noticing how clean the house was realizing Karma could never clean like this! "Rio!" Karma called out.
A girl in a maid uniform with a silver tray in her arms dashed down the stairs. "Yes, sir Akabane?" She asked halfway down the long staircase.
"You can say Karma!" He suggested. Obviously she ignored it. "Anyway, this is Nagisa Shiota! He will be spending the night here."
Her eyes went wide to hear I'm a guy. I smiled. "Hello, Rio!"
She smiled "Good evening Nagisa!" She politely greeted.
"I have another maid who won't be back for a while. She's getting stuff to make dinner with." Karma said. Rio started to carry my bag. "Oh no, you don't have to-"
"Don't worry! This is my job!" She insisted. Clearly she wanted to do it, so I let her.
Karma lead me upstairs to show me something.
Once we reached his room he turned on a tv and hooked up a game.
"It's that game we used to play as kids, right?" I guessed.
He smiled as he turned on the game. It was the 'Brawl' game we used to play as kids, to be honest, it was still fun. We got to play as super heroes or villains fighting.
We chose our characters and began to fight. As usual, Karma was like a master. But I wasn't that bad to be honest. I've played it before.
"You've gotten better!" Karma admitted as he fought back. "I did? This is harder than I remember!"
"Hey! Hey! Stop kicking for one second so I can move at least!" I laughed.
Of course he didn't. He ended up killing me and winning. "Man, your impossible to beat!"
He laughed. "You tried walking away to escape, try jumping or kneeling to avoid getting hit, and if I corner you, spam jump or hit." He intricate D with a kind smile.
Before Karma could start a new round someone knocked on the door.
"Master, Karma?" A soft voice called. We turned and saw a girl in the doorway. She wore a maid uniform as well. She had green hair and kind eyes.
She was holding a brown paper bag in her arms. "I got the groceries." She said, not even noticing me. She glanced at me and back at Karma. She quickly turned her head back at me with a surprised look. "Master, Karma! You should have told us you had a girlfriend! I could have prepared something nice!"
I flushed in embarrassment.
"This is Nagisa! He's me friend!" Karma laughed.
Her eyes widened. "Ehh?!!" She turned back at me bowing in apology. "I apologize! I didn't know! How rude of me!"
I smiled. "It's alright, I'm not surprised. Considering my hair and outfit you shouldn't apologize!"
She stood up straight relaxing, sighing in relief. "Thank goodness... I felt so stupid..."
Then she smiled. "I'm Kaede Kayano! I'm Karma's oldest maid. I've been working for him for years now. Ever sense his parents got so caught up in work, I basically always helped him!"
She cleared her throat. "Dinner will be ready shortly." She told Karma. She turned back at me with a smile. "It was so nice to meet you, Nagisa!"
She turned around and walked away.
"Awwww, the controls are dead! We have let them charge for a while. So let's find something to do!"
I nodded. "Alright.."
We sat for ten seconds then Kayano walked in the doorway. "Dinners ready!" She announced.
After she left Karma stretched his arms. "Alright! Let's get going!"
Karma lead me down the large staircase and into the dinning room. It was huge and had a dinner table with a bunch of chairs. It made the food seem so small because it for only two. I sat down across from Karma. I saw that the food was just a bunch of different types of sushi. I guess Karma knew it was my favorite.
I actually looked up his favorite food. It just happened to be sushi.
As Karma and I ate, I looked over to my left at the end of the long table. I noticed Rio and Kayano standing with low heads with silver trays in their hands.
"Don't worry, they aren't sad. Maids and butlers always do that. It's weird. Having someone watch you while you eat is scary. I've asked them to stop but they keep saying things like what if you choke? Or it's my job!"
I smiled feeling a bit more relaxed, even if they looked sad. But I guessed they were more calm than sad. It messes my mind up confusing me.
