Chapter 15: Confliction

"What are best friends for? I'll see you in the morning if you decide to come."

Then she walked out as you fell back on the bed. Now you just have to figure out what your heart wants you to choose. Peter or your education?

Peter's P.O.V.

I sat on the couch debating on whether or not to go to y/n's. Then Wanda walked down the stairs of my room. She settled on the cushion next to me in silence.

"Peter?"

"Yeah, Wanda?"

"Do you think Ruthie deserves to be with me?"

I looked at her with concerned worried eyes.

"Of course, she's lucky to have you."

"I think she can do better than me..."

"What are you talking about Wanda?"

"She doesn't deserve to be with a mutant like me, she should be with someone normal."

"No don't say that you know she loves you like crazy!"

"I don't know."

"Where did all these thoughts come from?"

"Ruthie has been really distant lately... I feel like she's keeping something from me..."

I turned Wanda's face towards me.

"Wanda trust me, she loves you."

"How do you know?"

"I just do."

She crossed her arms and turned away from me.

"I don't believe you."

She got off the couch and started walking towards the stairs. I immediately ran in front of the stairs to block her.

"Wanda."

"Peter, move."

"Wanda, you need to believe me."

"I don't because you don't know why she's being distant!"

I sighed as I ran my hands down my face in frustration.

"Unless you do know, Peter?"

My eyes got wide as I tried to speak.

"Oh great so Ruthie trusts my brother more than me! She definitely loves me..."

She pushed me out of the way angrily as she marched up the stairs.

"Wanda!"

I could've run after her but I knew I wasn't the one who could fix the problem. My legs carried me to her room to look for Ruthie's number. I eventually found it in her notebook before running back to my room. As I dialed the number into the telephone my eyes trailed over to a picture of y/n and me on the wall. I smiled lightly as someone answered the phone.

"Hello?"

It sounded like a young boy. I didn't know Ruthie had a younger brother or actually this could be a wrong number.

"Um.. is Ruthie there?"

"Yeah who's calling?"

"Peter."

"I've never heard of you, are you her boyfriend?"

I chuckled at the boy's comment.

"No, I'm not the one dating her."

"Okay, Ruthie! The phone's for you!"

He yelled away from the phone.

"What's your name?"
