The party finally ended and it was a success. Everyone left except for me; I decided to stay with Kelly for the night because she seemed really upset. I think something happened between her and Michelle, cause I noticed that things were tense and she left early.

"Baby," I whispered to Kelly as she was laying on the couch. "Did something happen tonight?"

She sighed and sat up, and I sat next to her. "That bitch fucking tried me, Trey."

"Michelle? I seen her leaving early."

"Yes. She always got some shit to say. I'm tired of her stuck up ass always tryna be pastor TD Jakes and giving unwanted opinions. Nobody's perfect, she damn sure ain't perfect herself so she need to check herself before tryna check me."

"Woah, okay wait a minute Kelendria," I said, trying to calm her down. "This is one of your best friends that you're talking about.

"I don't give a damn what she is. I'm not gon let anyone disrespect me."

"Tell me what happened." I placed her head on my lap and looked down at her, waiting for her to speak.

"She was tryna make me feel bad for being with you," she sighed.

"How so?"

"She kept talking about your reputation and saying that you don't love me the way I love you. Basically discouraging the fact that we're dating."

I tried not to react any type of way because that's her friend. Her friend, not mine, which means that she don't know me like that. So for her to judge me based on my past is wrong. It seems as if she has some kind of personal problem with me, and I peeped that for years.

"Well I will say this," I sighed. "She ain't have no right to bring up my past because that's wasn't the topic at hand. She can either support our relationship or not say anything at all."

"Exactly!" she exclaimed. "See, you understand me Tremaine."

"What happened after that?"

"I almost beat her ass," she replied simply.

"What?"

"She tried to say that I was 'wrapped around your finger.' I charged at her but Lala stopped me. Then I told her that I'm with you because I'm in love, which is something she'll probably never experience. Then her scary ass left."

"Kelly what the hell..." I mumbled.

"Um, what?"

"You shouldn't have said that."

"The fuck you mean I shouldn't have said that?" she snapped. "I was sticking up for your ass."

"I know baby, but this has been your best friend for over 15 years. Y'all known each other way longer than you've known me. I don't want to get in between your friendship."

"Ugh, it's fine Tremaine," she groaned. "Her and I argue all the time."

"But to the point where you almost hit her?" I asked.
