Later that night....

I couldn't believe how Steve had acted. Then again, we did have the same temper. But oh well. I had to focus on my mission and nothing else. I wanted nothing more than to go home safely to my kids. The harder I trained, the easier that would be, but I only had 14 days left. Only two weeks to get my maneuvers perfect.

14 days later........

I woke up with a sick stomach and a migraine. I couldn't believe it. Today was the day. Today was the day I would either die or go home. I didn't want to, but I knew I had to go to the mess hall for breakfast. I put on my pilot's uniform, took some medicine for my head, tucked the picture of me, Danny, Grace, Charlie, and the twins into the breast pocket of the uniform, and walked to the mess hall. As soon as I walked in, the room went silent. Everyone stood and either saluted me or clapped. Steve was waiting for me at the back. I got my food and hardly talked the whole time to anyone. Directly after breakfast, I was to report to the hangar to get suited up. I finished my food and walked to the hangar. Steve followed me. I began getting suited up and finally put on my helmet. Steve hugged me and wished me luck. I climbed into the cockpit. The counted down my take off. Five.....Four....Three...Two..One. I pressed the throttle on the plane and lifted off. For a few minutes I flew straight ahead. According to my navigation system, I was 325 miles from the target and going at a speed of 1,498 mph. It would only be 13 minutes until I had to spiral down to drop the bomb. The time passed by in the blink of an eye. I could see the building then. I began my initial descent. Once I was 1.5 miles from the top of the building, I hovered and with shaky hands, I pressed a red button releasing the bomb. I had 10 seconds to get out of the range of the blast. Instead of ascending which would take longer, I jammed the throttle and wen straight towards the base. But suddenly........
