Scroll 21: A New Start

"I'll see you later then, Setta. Have fun training alright?

"Got it!"

I looked for Ja'far and found, Alibaba and Sharrkan training with their swords. Alibaba was almost in par with him but it looked like he still needed more training. I smiled and turned away to look for Ja'far.

Soon, I found him and he showed me to their training area. Grinning, I took out Stolas' metal vessel and changed to full body djinn equip. I decided to train and use Stolas more often. I want to use his healing magic in a destructive way.

'That is a good idea, My Queen. Instead of healing, you'll be causing damage to the body or worse, attack the already damaged part.'

"Yes. But it will be good if we could will the rukh to our bidding easily." My staff glowed purple before changing to creepy red. Using a dummy from outside, I attacked it and it broke the dummy's chest harshly. There was a huge breakage in the chest. I was satisfied with it but I was curious if I'm capable of silent killing. No wounds, no blood spurts. Just plain death.

I took water from outside and put it in a container before concentrating on it. I concentrated my magoi in a certain portion and boiling it up until the whole water itself was boiling. I didn't have the stomach to kill innocent animals. I was troubled.

'You could try it on insects, My Queen.'

"I guess so." That was when I saw one. I concentrated on its inner parts before tapping my staff downwards. The insect dropped dead on the floor. There were no spasms, just plain death. I smiled at it before training some more. I didn't notice time that until I felt exhaustion. Ja'far invited me to eat with them and I gladly accepted it. The others were already there as well as Setta and Lucien.

"Let's eat."

The following weeks were full of training and having fun. I could see Lucien's effort trying to socialize with others. He could communicate with a a few people now and I was glad. He also grew stronger because when I sparred with him, he was able to throw my staff to which never happened before. Next was Setta, I watched him train once and I could see that he was overjoyed with the magic in the book.

"I'm glad that you two are growing up healthy and strong."

"Azami-sama. I'm also the same age as you, you know." Lucien sweat dropped. I laughed but I told him that it really made me proud to see their improvements for such a short period of time.

"Let's go the town and eat?" We were about to walk outside when Ja'far stopped us. He said that Sinbad wanted to talk to us. We followed him and the three were already there.

"Hey there, Azami. An invitation letter from Ren Kouen came." Alibaba was confused and so was I.

'What did I have to do with it?'

Sinbad explained to us about the summit, what it was all about, how they would have to go there and honestly, when he said that he wanted to tell Kouen to use his djinn to go there, I also wanted to. Unfortunately, they already established that any of the two factions shall not use any metal vessel or bring an army to the place. Kouen asked him an escort and he wanted Alibaba and Aladdin to be those escorts. I let out a sigh of relief that he had already forgotten about it. Sinbad further said that it was an imitation letter saying that he could set foot on his own kingdom.

'I wonder if Kouen is really just arrogant or he's just testing him.'

Alibaba agreed to go alone. Aladdin even contemplated on going with him but the boy just said that he wants to do this alone. I admired his boldness but not his naivety.

'What is Kouen really planning?'

I was about to leave the room when Sinbad called for me.

"Kouen wants you to go there now as well, Azami."

"What!? Tell him that I don't want to! I'll be in the summit anyways. I'll fulfill my promise there. Just send him my exact words. Don't you dare do anything or else. Ja'far, please also see to it that Sinbad will write my exact words. Thank you." I walked with the others and bid Alibaba bon voyage.

"I'll see you at the summit then." I bid them farewell and the three of us left to go back to our inn.

The next day, after we see Alibaba off, Aladdin came to me and asked if I would like to do some research with him in the library. I obliged. I hadn't been in a library for some time now and I thought it would be best to learn more about magic and the djinns. I had always thought of trying different approaches to utilize their powers.

It had been five days ever since we started our research. Aladdin would read downstairs while I collect and read some interesting information to him upstairs. So far, the only things I've seen were books about magic, Sinbad's story, little to no information about djinns and magoi. I already read 100 scrolls and the library lacked the information we seek.

"Master Aladdin, Lady Azami, won't you stop for a while to get some sleep and refreshing food?" One of the Sindrian coordinator asked.

It was true that we barely sleep and eat. I got so engrossed with gathering information that I even forgot to eat. Aladdin, on the other hand, was so keen on his research to get rid of the entity.

"Please stop calling me 'Master'." Aladdin asked him. The assistant subtly sighed.

"Plus we're really fine. We get some from time to time and it's thanks to you, guys." They smiled and left us to our own world. Not long from now, I felt a familiar presence.

"Hey Azami, Aladdin? What are you two reading?"

"I am reading about magoi manipulation and the djinn." I answered without looking at the source of the voice. I already knew whose voice it belonged. Aladdin, on the other hand, didn't answered it truthfully.

"This is a magic book that talks about the rukh. I have a feeling that there are still so many secrets in this world." He confessed.

"Oh, I see. By the way, that magic tool is incredible." I could hear amusement in his voice which made me laugh lightly. He looked at my direction with his usual smile.

"Right? Professor Irene gave it to me. Even old characters that have become difficult to read appear clearly in your mind thanks to it, so the reading goes really smoothly." Aladdin said but noticed that it was just me and him inside after the assistants left the library.

"Wait. Who's there? Who's talking to me?" He asked frantically. I hid my laugh but it escaped. He grabbed Aladdin's glasses and put it on himself.

"Hey. It's me, Yunan." He smiled. He dropped down and gave me a concerned look. I was sure that he heard what the assistants said earlier. Wonderful.

"You shouldn't put aside your health, you two. Especially you, Azami. You know what happens when you do and I bet you haven't recovered that much." He reminded me.

"It's been two months, almost, so you don't have to worry about me." I assured him. He held my chin upwards which made me blush. I noticed Aladdin looking at us with a smirk.

'Since when did this kid get those ideas?! I know what he's thinking.'

'Pink rukhs eh?' He smiled devilishly at me. I quickly stood up and grabbed food nearby so that Yunan will not have to worry.

"I'm eating okay! Mmph!" I munched down the muffin with a blush. He chuckled while Aladdin laughed at my antics.

"Hey, why are you here, Yunan?" I asked while sipping my tea. He looked at me before taking a scroll and reading it.

"Well..."
