((This is gonna have some flashbacks, so if it gets confusing, tell me))
6 years later
Aileen had always wanted to live in a big city. Full of lights, people, potential. And that was why, 6 years ago, she arrived in New York, the city that never sleeps, with a smile on her lips and a plan in her head. Oh no, she wasn't just gonna live in NYC, she planned to rule it.
A city that big and so full of life under her control was music to her ears. It was never going to be easy, Aileen knew that, she'd have to work hard and be smart, always one step ahead from everyone else. Patience was a virtue though, and unfortunately, not one she possesed.
So when Aileen did come to New York, firstly she had needed a place to stay. She knew she had a cousin here, his name was Sam. Her aunt had kicked him out because he was a drug addict, and now he lived in NY, with a shitty job, pickpocketing people to pay for his heroine. When he was sober though, he was pretty cool to hang out with. Fortunately, he had let her stay with him temporarely.
She had taken a job in the easiest place possible, did you guess yet, Starbucks of course. It was there where she had met Gordon. He was an attractive, dark skinned man, and to her surprise, a cop, new at the job. They had started dating not long after that.
About five months later, she had visited him at the precinct, carrying coffe and bagels. The entire police force was discussing the dissapearance of Peter Granger, who supposedly was their only lead to the location of one of the biggest underground drug transactions to take place in the city in, well, ever.
This is my chance, Aileen had thought. She had claimed she could find out where the transaction would take place, and that they should leave it to her. It took a lot of convincing, but Aileen was very persuasive.
High as he was, her cousin Sam had later revealed his drug dealer's name and usual hangouts. Aileen had found the man, and well, she didn't torture him per se, she prefered the term "forceful interogation".
The man didn't know much, but he knew another man, who supposedly would take part in the transaction. It was hard, but eventually she had tracked him down, and basically stalked him, until she found out the day and time of the drug transaction. That was something, right?
She had reported what she knew back to the police, and they were very impressed. They had been on the case for months and this girl comes in and discovers the exact time in just over a week, well, that was impressive. Gordon espessially had looked at her with a proud look in his eyes.
Because the dealers knew all the cops' faces, none of them could go undercover. So Aileen had offered to go and she hadn't taken no for an answer. She was supposed to follow the man to the place of the transaction. The police had given her a transmittor, she was supposed to press the button when she was at the right place.
So, at the designated time, she had gotten into her car and followed the man up to an abandoned toy factory, on the other side of the city, careful not to be made.
Flashback
Once the man walked inside the building, Aileen got out of the car. The transmittor was in her hand, but yet unpressed. She took a deep breath, and moved towards the entrance.
The factory inside was immensely huge, two floors of empty space. At least it would be empty, if it wasn't for a few cars and about two hundrend people, all turned to look at her. Most of them were holding big automatic guns, which they pointed directly at her once they spotted her.
Aileen raised her hands as a sign of piece. "Relax, boys." she said.
A man stumped up to her, he was tall, buff and bold, tatoos covering his head and a few scars his neck. "Who the fuck are you and what the fuck are you doing here?" he spat at her. He sounded Russian, or maybe Ukrainian, she couldn't tell.
