Chapter 23: Healing

"Who is it?"

"It's Charles."

"One second."

Y/n rolled off the bed quickly causing her to land on the ground making a painful thud.

"Peter? Are you okay?"

She moved under the bed to hide. I slowly hopped of the bed and fell to the floor. Charles wheeled himself in to check on me and looked at me curiously.

"What are you doing on the floor?"

"Uhhh... I forgot my leg was broken."

He chuckled as he gestured from someone to come in. I peeked over to y/n under the bed to make sure she was alright from the fall. She smiled at me in reassurance. Then someone picked me up as my eyes got wide in confusion. I looked up and saw my dad setting me back on the bed.

"I need to talk to you Peter."

"About?"

"Y/n."

"Um okay?"

"Well since she's back now I thought she should get to know her father better."

"I agree."

"I just don't know how to approach her about it."

"I know she would love to get to know you better, she really admires you already it would probably make her happy to know that you are her father."

I heard y/n slightly gasp and I attempted to cover it up with a cough.

"What was that?"

Erik asked as he looked around the room trying to find the source of the noise.

"I just coughed."

"It sounded like you were trying to cover something up."

"No, I just coughed."

Before he could question me further the door to my room flew open.

"Peter!"

"Lorna?"

She pushed past Charles and Erik to give me a hug.

"I'm so sorry I didn't come earlier because mom didn't tell me till after I was done with all of my tests."

"Are high school tests really that hard?"

"Mom seems to think so."

She giggled out at she examined my leg.

"It's not that bad it will heal soon."

"Because you heal fast too.."

She sighed as she rolled her eyes.

"I've also decided to stay here at the school."

"Really? Maybe I should come too!"

"You don't need to I know how much you'd miss your friends at school."

"But I need help with my powers, Peter."

"What powers do you have?"

Charles budded in as she finally acknowledged his presence in the room.

"I'm sorry, who are you?"

"Charles Xavier, I run this school."

"Well... I'm not very comfortable showing my powers to other people."

"That's okay, you can describe them to me as well."

"Okay do you know who M..."

I shushed her before she could finish her sentence.
