being a gamer sometimes has its ups and downs, but being a girl gamer? it's hard honestly.

you may ask, 'why is it so hard?' well, you are underestimated by others, you are judged for being so-called 'boyish', you are broke from buying games and consoles, you are not like "other girl," and some guys just want your nudes.

i have always loved video games since i was a child and whenever i have the free time, i play video games. though i have lots of different games, i don't have enough budget to buy the games. for the entire year, i've been saving money to buy the game that i've always wanted to play, the wolf among us (this game is awesome and i'm currently playing it huehue) and today, i counted up my savings and i have enough money to finally buy it.

after i get dressed and pack up my things, i get into my car and drive to the mall, blasting my chemical romance's na na na through the car speakers (honestly, one of my favorite songs by mcr). once i arrive, i grab my wallet and keys and exit the car, walking to into the mall. i make my route towards the video game store and am immediately greeted by aisles of tables and shelves adorned with games, consoles, and merchandise.

i walk through the aisles, finding the game that i'm looking for and after searching for a while, i finally spot the game. i smile to myself and do a little happy dance in my mind before grabbing the game and going to the cashier but whilst turning at a corner, i accidentally bump into someone, making them drop their things and fall to the ground.

we both fall down and i instantly panic. "oh god, i'm so sorry!" i apologize and kneel to pick up the person's things on their behalf. "i'm really sorry! i wasn't looking where i was going." i bow my head in shame, handing the person their things. i hear the person chuckle and when i look up to meet their eyes, i nearly faint. "it's no problem," he says, the strands of his brown hair, being swept aside and his mesmerizing blue eyes looking into mine.

it's chandler riggs.

the chandler riggs who acts as carl in the walking dead. the chandler riggs whose character is always called 'coral' by his character's father, rick grimes. the chandler riggs who streams online while playing video games. the chandler who has much better hair than me.

my eyes widen like plates, "y-you're . . . you're . . . you're c-chandler r-riggs," i stutter, mentally scolding myself for stuttering like a complete idiot. he chuckles, hands me the game that i dropped on the ground, and helps me up. "well, that's my name." i mumble a quiet 'thanks' for helping me stand up and feel warmth radiate on my cheeks. "oh and sorry about bumping into you. it was completely my fault, not yours," he says and before i could say anything else, he exclaims in excitement, "oh, you're buying 'the wolf among us'? i love that game!"

i smile and chuckle lightly. "really? don't you dare spill any spoilers or else i'll lucille you," i jokingly threaten him and chandler laughs. "nice pun. you have an eye for games, by the way." he winks, making me burst out into laughter and roll my eyes. "please don't remind me of that and thanks."

we talk and talk until i realize that i have to get going. "oh, shoot! i gotta blast," i say frantically and start speed walking towards the cashier with chandler calling for me and catching up. he runs and stands in front of me, making me stop. "please let me pay for that. let me make it up to you for bumping into you earlier." he fishes his wallet out but before he could hand me the money, i push his hand back. "chandler, it's fine! you don't need to do that for me."

"well, it's not every day that i bump into pretty girls who like video games like me." i blush at his comment. "i'm not pretty but thank you anyway."

"you're welcome and c'mon, i have to make it up to you somehow." i push his hand back and laugh. "here's what i'll do. i'll pay for it myself and maybe we could play the game together sometime. does that sound okay?" i suggest. "are you asking me out?" chandler laughs. "because i was going to ask you out."

"well, i beat you to it. plus, it's not everyday that i bump into a handsome guy that plays my favorite character in my favorite tv show."

"touchè."

we both laugh and eventually, he agrees to my plan. i pay for the game and we exchange numbers before saying our goodbyes and leaving the store.

as i walk away, i can't help but smile.

maybe being a gamer girl isn't so bad.
