Anna POV

My feet touched the cold tiles of my bed room floor as I heard my alarm clock go off. 6am, time to get ready fro school. I grabbed my glasses from on my side table and walked sluggishly to the bathroom to shower and brush my teeth.

After showering, I dressed in a hoodie and jeans and headed downstairs for breakfast. "Oh Morning dear," my mom said as she saw me approach the breakfast table. I sat down in front a bowl of oatmeal with my hand propped on the table. My mom sat opposite me with her bowl of oatmeal and freshly cut fruit. "No elbows on the table," she scolded. I groaned and brought my hand o my lap. "And don't slouch, why are you always slouching, a lady doesn't slouch."

I was quite different from my mom she was flashy and loved attention, she loved diamonds and summer dresses while I preferred jeans and sweatpants. She likes curls and I prefer to just put my hair in a ponytail. I am not her but she tries to make me her.

"Good Morning," my dad said entering the kitchen, he kissed my mom on her forehead and sat down next o me.

"How's my future Harvard student?"  he said smiling over at me. I smiled back, Harvard, Harvard, Harvard that's all I've been hearing about my whole life. It's expected that I follow in the footsteps of my parents who are both top lawyers at their firms. How about what I want?

I finished my oatmeal grabbed my book bag and headed out the door to my car.

"Hey, what's up?"  Michael said as he got in the passenger side, clearly seeing my gloomy face.

"Same old, same old," I said as I waved at his dad picking up he paper from off the lawn.

"Your dad mentioned Harvard again?" he said as he threw his book bag in the backseat. I nodded.

"My dad don't even want me to go  away to college like he wants me to stay here and  go community college and help out with the family business," he continued.

"Why do parents always try to tell you how to live your life?" I remarked as I found a park in the school parking lot.

I looked over at Michael for a response to realize I no longer held his attention. He was business staring at Kelly, the hottest girl in school, her boyfriend was captain of the basketball team, Jacob, they were the school's "power couple."  I watched as Jacob approached her and she greeted him by sticking her tongue down his throat. Ew, Get a room. I looked over at Michael and nudged him in his side, "come on, let's go." We grabbed our bags and headed to the entrance.

   Jacob POV

"Jake get up, you gonna be late," my mom shouted as she barged in my room pulling apart my curtains. I groaned as the light burned my eyes and pulled the covers over my head.  Realising I wouldn't be able to get back to sleep I pulled off the covers and sat at the end of my bed as I yawned and rubbed my eyes. I walked over my carpeted floors maneuvering around piles of clothing as I headed to the bathroom for a shower.

After showering I put on some jeans, a white tee and grabbed my jacket. I walked into the kitchen and headed straight to the fridge grabbing the container of juice and putting it to my head. "Jake use a glass,"  my mom scolded as she walked in the kitchen. A car horn sounded I grabbed my basketball and my phone and was out the door. "See ya," I called closing the door behind me.

"It's about time," Issa called as I approached the car and hopped in the back seat. I high fived August who sat in the passenger side and we drove off to school music blasting.

We pulled into the school parking lot into our regular spot. I got out the car to see my girl coming towards me, "Morning babe," I greeted her with a kiss.

"The fall dance is coming up, and you know we gotta look our best," she said as she pulled away and rested her hands on my chest. She the time of girl that everything must be planned down to the last second perfection is important to her and I respect that.

We sat away from the rest for awhile and we planned outfits for the dance. Soon the bell rang and we headed indoors, hand in hand.  I walked her to her locker where she greeted her girls and I headed to first period with August, Issa turned at the end of the corridor to his first period.

We arrived just in time for class to start and we took our seats in the back. " Okay everyone," Mr.Hall said bringing the class to order," Where's the homework?"

"Shit," I turned to August, "You did it?" the look on his face told me no. He turned to the girl next to him and she happily passed her homework to us. We quickly copied off he work as Mr.Hall walked through the isles collecting the work. I never wrote so fast in my life. I finished just as he had reached my desk and August slipped the girl's homework back to her from under his desk just as Mr.Hall got around to her. That was close. I'm barely passing this class can"t afford to miss an assignment.

Soon class was finish and headed to second period but not before August got homegirl's number. We met up with Issa at his locker and we all headed to Chemistry, another class I was barely passing. Kill me now.
