Erik thought about it, and made the decision that it was probably something Marta wanted her to do today. After all, there weren't many people working in the media department. "She's probably busy with something in the building," he told them.
"Aw, I was going to ask her to take some model shots of me today..." Mats said, making Marco playfully shove him as he stopped the football against his cleat.
"Yeah right, Hummels," the blonde laughed, "she would reject you within a heartbeat."
"You don't know that." Mats started to dribble the football across the pitch, motioning for his teammates to follow. "Let's play!"
"Come on," Marco patted on Erik's back before they both ran off, jogging after Mats.
But of course, Erik couldn't keep his mind off Hanne. What was she doing?
The last time she had mentioned work to him, she said that things were simple as of now. Her only job was to simply capture photos of the team during training, matches, and whatever was in her agenda. Nothing seemed to be in her way, not even the lack of employees in the media department.
He remembered her saying that Marta didn't like it when they didn't have any new pictures almost everyday, that being the reason why Hanne was always out of the building. Photographing the team training or in an interview or doing something at least! She knew that this job was important, and so did he. But he couldn't quite get his mind off the topic.
Almost everyone during training had to mention her name at least once or twice. They were close to Hanne like they were her siblings.
Where's Hanne?
Hanne's not here? And I was so ready to be photographed today.
She's the only reason why we can get through training—she makes it seem less tiring. Joking around with us and making things be at ease.
Her absence didn't really affect much of today's training since they had a match coming up, and the last things they wanted was to lose because they were distracted over something that wasn't important. But this was important, well, for Erik at least.
This sure wasn't something to stress over about, but he did. If your significant other was nowhere to be found, wouldn't you be concerned?
Somehow, Erik managed to make it through the entire training session without getting too bothered by it. Every time he looked at the corner, looking for Hanne to be crouching down with her expensive camera up to her face, she wasn't there.
She never did come out to the pitch.
Now well after training, he couldn't have been more worried as he fast walked to the elevator, pressing the button to the floor where the media department was. He had sent her multiple texts the moment he arrived in the changing room to where he stood in the middle of the first floor of the building. Even fifteen minutes past by, and he still didn't get an answer.
That's when his worst thoughts got the best of him. Is she sick? Did she get kidnapped? Mein Gott, I'm the worst boyfriend in the world I shouldn't even be allowed to date or even be out of my own house I'm the worst I don't even know where my girlfriend is.
When he arrived on the third floor, Erik practically raced out of the elevator, rushing through the hallway to stop in front of the door leading to the room of the media department of Borussia Dortmund. He twisted the doorknob and opened the door.
