Chapter 24: A Phone Call:
I must have fallen asleep sometime the previous day, because the next thing I knew, I was woken up by my alarm and going here and there in order to get ready for work.
I was considering calling Alex to apologize about my rude way of talking as I was putting my shirt on fast. That time, I had to be the make-up artist for some actors, filming a movie called Their Life or something like that.
My phone decided to ring at that moment, so I put it between my ear and shoulder as I was putting on my flats.
"Summer!" Bella's voice came through the phone.
"Hey Bel, how are doing?" I asked.
"I'm fiiiiiine, what about my bestyyyyy?" she slurred.
Wait. Is she drunk?
"Bel, are you drunk?" I asked, worried about her.
"Me? Noooooo," she said.
She definitely is.
"Where's Jay? Where are you?"
"I'm hooooome, he's not hoooome," her voice swayed.
"I'm coming. Stay there," I told her as I hung up.
As I walked out of my bedroom, I saw Drew getting out of his room. I glared up at him, and walked past him, I didn't want to deal with him.
"So that's it?" he said, his voice full of an emotion I couldn't place my finger on it.
"What is what?" I asked, turning to face him.
"I'm going to introduce her to Mum and Dad," he quietly told me.
"I know that," I snapped.
"I should be the one who's mad here," he snapped back.
"Nobody told you to speak to me. Now excuse me, I got to go."
I wanted to stay, to talk more, but I knew I had to go to see Bella and try to make it to the set, so I walked past him, and he went to his room, but not before muttering, "I just want to be happy."
My heart broke as I climbed into my car, but really, I didn't know what to do. If I let him be with her, she'll break his heart. If I try to make them break up, it'll create a much more bigger fight between Drew and I.
