Best Friends

Michael's POV

 I left Charlotte's house and drove towards the mall, I had to meet my ex-girlfriend there. I know it's stupid to ditch your date with an amazing girl just so you can go talk to your ex that left you so she could go to America and hook up with an American guy.

"You better have a good reason for pulling me down here," I told Jules.

"I do," Jules glared at me.

"Well? What is it?" I asked sitting down at the food court table Jules was sitting at.

"Ryley left me," Jules said.

"Why?" I asked.

"He got me pregnant..." Jules mumbled.

"And he's not going to help you?! What kind of guy is he?!" I asked raising my voice before realizing people were starting to stare.

"He's a great guy it's just that he's not ready for such responsibility," Jules defended.

"So what does all this have to do with me?" I asked.

"I want you to help me."

"Help you with what...?"

"With raising this baby," Jules said.

"Woah woah woah! I don't think I should do that, especially since we're not together, and it's not my baby!" I said.

"Please Michael! I can't raise a fucking baby by myself!" Jules begged.

"No Jules! It's not my baby!" I yelled.

"Michael I-oh shit," Jules trailed off at the end.

"What? What's wrong?" I asked running over to Jules who was clutching her stomach.

"I think I'm going into labor," she groaned.

"C'mon I'll take you to a hospital," I said helping Jules up and leading her to me car.

"What are you going to call her?" I asked looking at the baby girl in Jules' arms.

"Lea," Jules stated.

"That's a pretty name," I said quietly trying not to wake the baby.

"She looks so much like Ryley," Jules choked out.

"She's beautiful," I mumbled.

"Excuse me, Miss Roryington, we have to take Lea now," the nurse said coming into the room.

"Okay," Jules agreed softly handing the nurse Lea.

"I'll help you," I muttered after the nurse left.

"Really?" Jules asked as if she misheard me.

"Yeah, she deserves more than a dad that left before she was born," I sighed.

"Oh thank you so much Michael!" Jules grinned almost hugging me so tight I could barely breathe.

"But we are not together this is only for Lea and I won't be moving in with you, but you guys can visit any time and I'll visit every chance I get and I'll babysit whenever you need me to," I said.

"Deal," Jules shook my hand like that would seal the deal.

"I have to go but I'll come see you guys tomorrow," I said heading for the door.

"Bye Michael!" Jules called after me as I left the room.

I went back to my car and drove to the fundraiser. When I got there the one thing I'd been dreading happened....Charlotte came with Luke. Meaning she knew that I lied.
