Figuring Out Smith

As he walked through the lobby,briefcase swinging, perfectly groomed,usual air of nonchalance,custom made suit,dark looks,...I couldn't help but stare, I mean everyone was doing it too..

"Alright Tobi don't forget to submit your proposal to me......"

"OK...just give me a minute "

"The accounting team has to approve it"

why can't  Kat just let me forget my miserable life and soak in the the little piece of heaven that just walked by?... Why!

"Kat I said I was coming"

Kat my immediate superior has been crushing...OK maybe crushing is to little of a word...obsessing is more like it..yeah. she has been obsessing over the head of the accounting department for as long as I have known her(and by that I mean three years) ....so she feels like she has to stake her claim....when ever someone ogles him (and by someone I mean mostly me) she reminds us of all our unfinished work

"Tobi make it snappy I need to go submit it to Mr smith"

Ohhh so that's why she wants me to finish up my proposal quickly so she can use my work to flirt with Mr steamy.....that little witch...

Well there seems to be nothing I can do...."arrhhggghhh I hate my life"

"Come on Sheryl let's go before he leaves the building"

"Tobi your obsession for mark is quickly becoming unhealthy"

"Obsession... Love.... No big difference"

"Tobi very soon you'll have security cameras in his house "

"Come on Sheryl don't underestimate  me...that was the first order of business,now come on we are going to loose sight of him"

I quickly pulled Sheryl with me towards the door of the lobby as we hid beside the door I hot to observe steamy without any interruptions....namely KAT!!!

"Tobi don't you think there is something strange about this guy?"

"You mean his uncommon beauty?" I quickly cut her off

"No!something else something dark and restrained"

"You mean his primitive and raw sexual pull"

"NO! Stop cutting me off tobi, I'm telling you he is weird..."

"Sheryl .....live a little we are not doing anything wrong,stop trying to make things complicated"

"I'm very sure that's what the boogey man tells you and tomorrow your remains are found on the street!"

I roll my eyes "come on Sheryl, the boogey man!...hasn't being friends with me thought you anything? I mean you could be a tad bit more creative".

" whatever tobi,sometimes I wonder how we are even friends "

."come on Sheryl we both know the reason,...you couldn't resist my charm and allure"

"Shhhhh Mr steamy is on the move"

We watched mark enter his ridiculously expensive car and drive away...

"Sheryl see what your big mouth has caused we couldn't hear anything he said...."

"Hey you talked too!" Sheryl was saying as she started walking back inside"I mean just because he helped pick up your pen doesn't make him a misunderstood good guy"

She put air quotes when she said the word misunderstood....

"I know Sheryl, I just can't help but think he is a nice guy...I mean he might be a bit Moody at times"

"Come on tobi a bit Moody?, he has his permanent grim ripper scowl on his face anytime we see him.!"

"Sheryl....what have I told you about being creative?"

"Tobi if we don't hurry we are going to  loose the bus and I'm not taking the central subway because of your big obsession with Mr tall,dark and moody"

"Tall,dark and moody....good one Sheryl"

Presently I am sitting on my bed trying to get Sheryl (my best friend) to go out with me

"Hey want to go out for drinks today"

"Ummmm..sorry tobi can't make it."

"Why...oh my gosh are you standing me up".. I started sobbing " I mean we haven't even gone out on our first date!!!"

"Shut up tobi" Sheryl started laughing " we both know you are as straight as a popsicle stick "

"But why don't you want to go out for drinks with me" I wailed trying my possible best to act sad and not laugh...did I tell you how bad an actress I am?

"Tobi.... Again,Shut up...stop being over dramatic"

"Come on Sheryl...why don't you want to come"

"Ummm....I might have a date with joe from work"

"Seriously Sheryl...joe" Sheryl ...well she is more of a sex no relationship kinda girl and Joe he is more like a marriage kinda guy

Once we asked him why he doesn't date and he said he was looking for "" the one""

"Sheryl you know Joe is "

"Yes tobi I know"
She quickly cuts me off, "but it doesn't matter he understands that I'm not looking for a relationship "

"That's what you said about peter,Jerald,James.....should I continue"

"Its OK tobi....you don't have to remind me of how broken I am....."
She retorts  angrily

"I'm sorry Sheryl you know what go out with me today let's go have fun and you can also meet many random guys I mean the commonest place for a hookups is at the club"...

" OK tobi.... I'll cancel my date with Joe."

"Thank you!"
"Let's meet up at d_Jump"

"OK tobi see you there"

I wear the gown I bought at forever 21 it was really cute and chick I quickly brush my hair and decide to leave it in naturel curls...a bit of mascara,eyeliner,lip balm..and I'm done

As I get to d_jump I quickly dial Sheryl
"Girl where are you"

"Tobi I'm almost there..I got caught up"

"OK when you get here just text me"

There must be a bar around here now all I've got to do is find it

As I walk towards the bar I spot a familiar figure standing in the dark talking on his phone totally oblivious to me standing there staring at him

"Wait,tobi isn't that Mr steamy."
