"Er, yes, sir." Donovan replied.
"Looked a bit of a weirdo, if you ask me." He said. I glared at him, as did John. "Often are, these vigilante types." The Chief continued, then looked at me and John.
"What are you looking at?" he asked us.
I punched the man in the nose and John held me back. The man went to backhand me when John hit him as well.
"Are you all right, sir?" An officer asked as both John and I were cuffed and pushed up against a car next to Sherlock. Sherlock smirked at me.
"Joining me?" Sherlock asked us.
"Yeah." I replied.
"Apparently it's against the law to chin the Chief Superintendent." John added. The officer then connected our handcuffs. Sherlock looked over his shoulder and I looked down at our cuffs, the main pair held me and Sherlock together then John's was connected to the chain between us.
"Hmm. Bit awkward, this." Sherlock said.
"Huh. No-one to bail us." John said.
"I was thinking more about our imminent and daring escape." Sherlock replied. The radio squealed as an officer spoke.
"All units to two-seven."
"What?" John and I both asked realizing what Sherlock said.
"All units to two..." Sherlock quickly reached through the window of the police car and hit a button on the radio making all the officers with ear pieces' cringe and hold their ears as feedback from the radio squeals through. Suddenly, Sherlock pulled a gun out of the holster from the cop next to him and holds it to John's head.
"Ladies and gentlemen, will you all please get on your knees?" Sherlock asked. Greg looked at us and I heard Sherlock shoot two bullets in the air. "NOW would be good!" Sherlock added pointing it toward the police.
"Do as he says!" Lestrade called as they all kneeled and Sherlock, John and I began walking backward.
"Just-just so you're aware, the gun is his idea. Liz and I are just a... you know..." John stuttered.
"My hostages." Sherlock said then pushing the barrel of the gun to the side of my head and I snapped my mouth shut.
"Hostage! Yes, that works – that works." John whispered. They all stayed down as we ran around the corner.
"So what now?" I asked.
"Doing what Moriarty wants – I'm becoming a fugitive. Run." Sherlock said as we all continued to run.
"Take my hand." Sherlock said to me. As we ran, the gun fell to the ground and I jerked both of them.
"The gun!" I said going to grab it when Sherlock pulled us in another direction.
"Leave it!" Sherlock called as we slid into an alley. Sherlock climbed over a trash bin and jumped over a gate as I stayed on the other side, Sherlock's nose practically touching mine through the gate.
"Sherlock, wait!" I said.
"We're going to need to coordinate." I sighed. Sherlock looked around noticing we had to get me and John over the gate.
"Go to your right." Sherlock said.
Somehow, we were able to climb up and over as we ran down a road and we heard the sirens approaching.
"We're screwed," I sighed. Sherlock quickly pulled me against his chest in a small crook in the wall, pulling John behind me. All of us squished together. Me, chest to chest with Sherlock and John against my back.
"Everybody wants to believe it – that's what makes it so clever. A lie that's preferable to the truth. All my brilliant deductions were just a sham. No-one feels inadequate – Sherlock Holmes is just an ordinary man." Sherlock explained.
"What about Mycroft? He could help us." John suggested. Sherlock began pulling us down the small alley.
"A big family reconciliation? Now's not really the moment." Sherlock said. I noticed John look off down the alley toward the end of the road.
"Sher... Sherlock." John began and hit his arm, nodding his head in the direction of a face peeking around the alley.
"We're being followed. I knew we couldn't outrun the police." John sighed.
"That's not the police. It's one of my new neighbors from Baker Street. Let's see if he can give us some answers." Sherlock said. We ran to the other side of the alley and there wasn't any sign of the police, just a double decker bus that read the number 74 to Baker Street Station.
"Where are we going?" John asked.
"We're going to jump in front of that bus." Sherlock said.
"What?!" John asked, as did I as Sherlock pulled us all in front of the bus. The man raced after us and tackled us to the ground, pushing us out of the way. Sherlock quickly took the gun from the man as we all sat on the ground, Sherlock pointing the gun at the man.
"Tell me what you want from me." Sherlock said. The man stared at Sherlock as he moved the gun closer to the man. "Tell me." Sherlock demanded.
"He left it at your flat." The man said.
"Who?" Sherlock asked.
"Moriarty."
"What?" Sherlock asked confused. We all stood and the man spoke again,
"The computer keycode." He said
"Of course. He's selling it – the program he used to break into the Tower. He planted it when he came around." Sherlock said. We heard three gun shots and I clung to Sherlock as the man in front of us fell down. Sherlock turned to look where the shots came from but we heard police sirens again and we dashed off. We slid down another alley to catch our breaths.
"It's a game-changer. It's a key – it can break into any system and it's sitting in our flat right now. That's why he left that message telling everyone where to come. "Get Sherlock." We need to get back into the flat and search." Sherlock sighed.
"CID'll be camped out. Why plant it on you?" John asked.
"It's another subtle way of smearing my name. Now I'm best pals with all those criminals." Sherlock answered. John spotted a newspaper on the ground and picked it up.
"Yeah, well, have you seen this?" John asked. It was a copy of The Sun, Kitty Riley wrote about Richard Brook an "actor" Sherlock hired to be Moriarty.
"The hell is this!" I yelled.
"A kiss and tell. Some bloke called Rich Brook." John said.
"A what and tell?" I asked glaring at both men.
"I didn't kiss her," Sherlock rolled his eyes at John's choice of words.
"Who is he?" John asked.
