Chapter 11: Thunder and Rain Equals to Gone

Start from the beginning

"I can't find them anywhere. I'm going to go to the Sanders' camper and check there instead, ok Mom?" I said pointing to their camper.

"Ok honey." with that said, I ran off.

As I entered in, Mrs. Sanders grilled patties for hamburgers. Weird, but its scent is so strong that I drifted myself to her griller. "Mm, me want some patty... Me want some burger... Me hungry... Need some food." I said, talking like a caveman.

"Mandy?" a person called behind me; I believe it was Alex.

"What?" I asked, turning my body around towards her direction. I can't believe she just called me Mandy. It sounded weird hearing Mandy coming out of her mouth, but not as weird as it came out of my Dad's mouth.

"What are you doing here, up so early?" she asked, getting a mug from one of the cabinets.

"I was woken up by my needed-to-wake-up-early father, and smelled a meaty scent, so I went to your camper. By the way, where and how did your family slept last night?" I asked, sitting down on the comfy brown sofa.

"Ugh," she said, starting our conversation with a sigh. "I slept horrible!"

"Why?" I asked shortly. My stomach started to grumble. "Oh no,"

"Don't worry; the patties are almost cooked, well-cooked perhaps." Mrs. Sanders said, flipping every single patty with her shiny silver spatula. Hmm, reminds me of Spongebob Squarepants working at the grill, flipping Krabby Patties, and sending them out to the customers.

"Anyways," Alex said, boiling up some water for her hot drink. "I slept horrible!"

"You've already said that," I said, interrupting her words.

"I slept horrible! Oliver and Dad kept on snoring, Sarah kept pushing me off the bed, even though I had given her enough space to sleep on the top bunk bed, Mom kept moving  and turning around, and finally, Brian kept saying that it was either too hot or too cold." she said, without pausing to take a breath of air.

"Yeesh, you don't need to tell everything." Oliver said, ruffling his own hair.

"So where'd you guys sleep?" I asked everyone who was in the room.

"Over there," Sarah said, stepping out of the curtained room and pointing there.

"Was it comfortable?" I asked Oliver with an eyebrow up.

"Of course it was comfortable, REALLY COMFORTABLE. Not. What did you think? You thought we had big beds neatly placed over the room?" Oliver stated matter-of-factly while getting out a mug which resembled Alex's mug.

I frowned, "Why would I think of that?" But it's true; I really thought that their beds in their camper were nicely made.

"Who wants some burgers?" Mrs. Sanders asked everyone.

"You made burgers in the morning?" Sarah asked, going into the bathroom. "That's weird."

"Even if it's weird, it's still tasty." Oliver said, pouring some boiled hot water into his cup.

"Not everything though." I said, standing up from the couch and stretching. "I'm gonna fetch James, Katie, and my parents. Be back in a few!" I slowly walked out of the large brown camper, and as I closed the door, thunder began wailing.

"Uh oh, this better not be the days where bad things come and go." I said to myself softly. I tiptoed to my car, mainly because I didn't want to 'scare' thunder. When I eventually made it there, I pressed my face onto the window lightly. I didn't see anyone there, nobody, no one, and nothing was in the car. They must be sheltered in the tents, I said to myself.
