Harry woke up to the smell of coffee.
Even without his glasses on he could tell Ron was still sound asleep on the other bed so he grabbed his glasses from the nightstand and tip toed out of the room as quietly as he could.
Harry was sure he would never get tired of how The Burrow looked and felt in the mornings.Specially those cold, bright December mornings. It felt like home, almost like Hogwarts, as cheesy as that sounded.
The smell of coffee, stronger now, sent shivers down his spine. Despite the warming spells he could feel his nose getting colder by the minute. Maybe the coffee would be able to keep him warm for a little longer.
When he reached the large kitchen door he stopped shortly, though, taking in the scene in front of him.
Draco Malfoy was brewing coffee still in his pajamas, silk ones that seemed as soft as his hair. If anyone had told Harry, maybe three months before then, that he would wake up on Christmas day and run into a Malfoy with messed up hair making coffee in the Weasley's kitchen he would have sent them to Madam Ponfrey immediately. Right then, though, he was focusing on not getting a hard on in front of his crush.
'Ah, mornin''
Draco turned, startled, wand in hand, and that was when Harry saw it. The growing mistletoe hanging from the ceiling just above his head. The look of shock, the blushed cheeks, the way he immediately hid his wand behind his back told Harry everything he needed to know.
'I -I didn't do it!'But Harry was smiling, getting closer. He backed Draco against the counter without even realising what he was doing. Harry swallowed, the thought that he could ruin everything right that second looming over him. But he was a Gryffindor, right? A stupid, impulsive Gryffindor, as Draco would say.
So he placed his hand in the blond's waist, catching the way his pupils were blown wide, his cheeks flushed.
'Guess I have no choice, yeah?' Harry looked at the mistletoe one more time before turning his gaze to Draco's lips.
'Guess you don't' Draco whispered as he wrapped his arm around Harry's neck. And that was all the boost of courage he needed to lean forward.
