I shot him a warning look and pointed to my eyes. There were way too many people around for him to let his unnatural features show, even if they were all drunk and high. He must have gotten the message, because he shut his eyes tight for a few seconds before opening them again, and this time they were blue.
"Dude, you gonna spin or not?"
I wasn't sure who'd said it, but I laughed awkwardly and spun the bottle. I watched as it rotated several times before, of fucking course, landing on Mason. My life was so cliche.
I gulped as a collective ooh went up from the group around us—it was no secret that Mason and I weren't exactly compatible. Little did they know.
This was bad. Like, really bad. My self control was already on an all time low when it came to Mason, let alone when I'd had a few drinks. When his eyes met mine from across the circle, the look in them told me that self control was the last thing on his mind.
Marcella was literally right there, though.
"I totally ship Eric and Phillip," she giggled, her words slurring sloppily. I realized that Marcella was probably the least of my concerns—she wouldn't remember anything tomorrow.
"It's time to release that crazy sexual tension you guys—hic—have."
I blinked, stunned at the words that had just left Maria's mouth. My stomach twisted with anxiety as I wondered how much she knew, but I dismissed the thought. She was drunk, drunk people said random things. At least, I hoped that was the case. Drunk actions were sober ideas, after all.
Mason and I stared at each other, and I silently wondered who was going to make the first move. My question was answered seconds later when he stood and crossed the space between us in two impatient steps. He kneeled in front of me, and when I looked into his eyes, I could tell he wanted this. As much as I hated to admit it, I wanted it, too.
Mason didn't waste another second before grabbing me by my collar and slamming his lips against mine. I could feel his jealousy in the way he kissed me, none too gently, as if he was marking his territory. Telling Maria to back off. I returned the kiss with just as much vigor, choosing to momentarily forget about the crowd around us. Kissing Mason was proving to be seriously addictive, and I'd been deprived for a week now.
"Thirty seconds is up."
Mason seemed perfectly fine with ignoring Blake's voice, so it was up to me to put things to an end. The problem was, I really didn't want to. Nevertheless, I pulled away. Mason's lips chased mine for a quick moment, too short for anyone else to notice. He wasn't stupid, though, and took his cue to back off completely, stand up, and go back to his spot.
I hated that we had a time limit. All I wanted was to grab Mason and kiss him some more, and, for the first time, I didn't care how wrong that was.
"That was pretty hot," I jumped at Cleopatra's voice. She was fanning her face with her hand, biting her lip dreamily. "Never thought I'd say this, but I think I've got a thing for gay Disney princes."
A few people laughed, but the game went on as it had before, like nothing just happened. To them, nothing did. But to me...
