The next morning you wake up, and Josh is already awake, and he has one hand on your stomach. He quickly takes it off when he sees you're awake. "Sorry.." He says. You grab his hand, kiss it, and then put it back on your tummy. "It's okay Josh, I don't care." you smile. He kisses your cheek. "You're amazing, you know that?" he says. You feel yourself blush. It's weird, but you can't help blush when he says things like that. They just come out of nowhere. You force a slight smile and say "you're pretty amazing yourself." Josh kisses you on the lips this time. "Do you ever think what life would be like if we didn’t meet at Harry's party?" you ask him. "Terrible." he answers. "Well no Josh, like what do you think you'd be doing if you had never met me?" you ask. "Honestly?" he says, "-I might still be with Allyson, or bouncing from meaningless relationship to meaningless relationship, never as happy as I am in this moment. I honestly think us meeting wasn't just be chance. I think us meeting was God making another perfect match. I used to want a relationship like my parents have, or like that couple you see on the street totally in love. And I have that with you Em." Josh is so wonderful, you think before you say "that's the kind of answer I was hoping for." you say, "But uh.." you stop talking, unsure of how to say what is on your mind. "What is it Em?" "You said you would never be as happy as you are in this moment.." you say. "Yes, and?" Josh asks. "Does that mean you're happy about uh.. the baby?" you ask. Josh smiles a little bit, and he simply says "Yeah Em, I'm excited about the baby." You don't really know how to respond, so you just say, "Okay." and stay silent for a few moments until Josh speaks up again. "Are you excited about the baby?" he asks. You take a deep breath and say what you had been scared to say since you found out you were pregnant. You say, "Yes Josh, I'm excited." He smiles and kisses you again. "Good. Ya know, I think we're gonna make pretty good parents." He says. "I sure hope we will" you answer. You and Josh decide to go to your favorite pier and go on a walk. You ride on the motorcycle there, because the doctor said it was fine to ride for now, and park about a mile away. You walk in the sand barefoot, linked by the arms, quietly. When you reach the pier you walk down it, and it's almost completely empty because tourists rarely come in February, and most people who live in LA don't enjoy just walking on the pier as much as you and Josh do. You sit at the end when you reach it and dangle your feet off the edge, now holding hands. "Do you want a boy or a girl?" you ask Josh out of nowhere. "At first I thought I wanted a boy.. ya know, do all that classic dad stuff. Fix my motorcycle together and play ball. But then I started thinking about having my own little princess, being able to read her fairytales at bedtime and protecting her from monsters in her nightmares.. and well I guess I just want him or her to be healthy and happy, then I'll be happy." He answers. "Me too. I'd be happy with either." you agree. "Have you thought about names at all?" Josh asks you. "Kinda.." you admit. "Me too," Josh says smiling, "-So what have you been thinking of then?" "Well for a boy.." You start out, "I like William, we could call him Will or Liam for short. And for a girl, I really like Elizabeth, or Lizzie for short." "I like both those names," Josh says smiling, "-I was thinking Joseph for a boy or Rosie for a girl" You like those names too. You and Josh transition the conversation away from the baby, because although you've both accepted it and are beginning to get excited, it's still not something either of you is comfortable talking about for long periods of time. You and Josh walk back down the pier and through the sand again, returning to the motorcycle, and making your way home for a quiet evening together.

The next few months go on. At the 12 week ultrasound, you and Josh heard your babies heartbeat for the first time. The Babies due date is September 30th, but your mom told you that your family has a tendency to give birth a few weeks early. It scared you at first, but your mom assured you that it is just genetics, and all the babies who were early, including you, were healthy when they were born. You and Josh are getting ready to go to your 18 week ultrasound. You're a little more than 4 months along now, so you are to the point where your clothes are not fitting very well and you spend a lot of time in Josh's sweats. You are already pretty big, another thing that runs in your family, and it looks like you're about 6 or 7 months instead of 4. Needless to say everyone knows your pregnant, even though you and Josh haven't officially announced it. At the last appointment, Doctor Maddock told you that you get to find out the sex of the baby at this appointment. "Ughhhhh." you say very frustrated as you try and fit into a pair of yoga pants that you used to wear all the time. Your feet are already getting bigger, and they barely can fit up past your knees. "Why can't you be the one who's body gets morphed" you yell down to Josh, who's waiting patiently for you to get ready, even though you're late for your appointment. You hear him walk into his room and he takes out a pair of his basketball shorts. "I would if I could baby, but for now just wear these" He says handing you his shorts and a baggy tshirt. You take them from him and change as fast as you can, and then he takes your hand and leads you to the jeep. At 4 months most people easily can buckle, but it's already a struggle for you with your giant stomach, so Josh helps you before he gets into the drivers seat of the jeep and starts the drive to Dr. Maddocks office. Josh has been so amazing with all your hormonal mood swings and crazy cravings. He helps you out of the jeeps and you walk in together. As you're walking in Josh says, "So have you thought about if we want to find out if it's a boy or a girl?" "I kindawanna know.." you admit, "- but I don't know if I want other people to know." "Well then we will find out, and we wont tell anyone else until the day he or she is born." Josh says with a smile. "You're so perfect." you say with a smile and giving him a kiss on the cheek as you walk through the door. Dr. Maddock is ready for your right away, so you go back to the room and change into your gown. You lay on the table with Josh in his normal spot, holding your hand. Dr. Maddock begins rubbing the cool ultrasound gel on your stomach and then takes out his equipment. You and Josh see the shape of your baby on the screen, and even though you've seen it before, it still leaves you breathless every time. Your doctor says, "So I know it's common to know the sex of the baby before birth now, but we have a few ways we can do so. We can just tell you know, or we can give the information to a photography student we work with. He has many different ways to reveal the information to you, while catching your reaction on camera." You and Josh decide to do that, and there is an opening today so Josh drives to the mall, and you both pick out matching outfits. You find the cutest maternity dress you can, putting on a belt above your tummy, and cowboy boots. You have all different colors of brown and tan, while Josh wears jeans, a plain white tshirt, and a new brown leather jacket with a fedora hat. You go to the address Dr. Maddock gave you, getting ready to find out the sex of your child.
