Of Chaos and Calculation

Start from the beginning

He said coldly, "Do you not realize how useless you are in the grand scheme of things? All his life, he's only had me, and he will always have me. But you? You were too stupid to realize he wasn't a real car, and only got in his way even more by foolishly getting yourself captured by the Decepticons. You think that you mean something to him, but you don't. We live for thousands and thousands of years, while you puny little humans struggle to make it to a century. We are strong, advanced beings while you're just a weakling who whines about her creators. Sideswipe doesn't care about you, he's only in this vile infatuation, but I'm putting a fragging stop to it. Right now." He leaned in closer, and I flinched, "This is your last and final warning, fleshling. Do you compute?"

I nodded frantically, trying to stop the shivers that were raking up and down my body. I knew Sunstreaker didn't like me, but I didn't know he was this angry. So much that his eyes were pooling with it, and another emotion that looked like fear, but I was too traumatized to care.

He snorted lowly at my shaking state, before lowering me to the ground, "Now get out of my sight."

As soon as my feet touched the ground, I ran as fast as I could. I ran as hard as I could, feeling the warm tears finally streaking down my cheeks. My vision blurred so much that I couldn't see straight, until I finally ended up collapsing in some random hallway. I buried my face in my hands, sobbing hardly and the shivers still wracked my body. My heart was still racing from the fear, but would hurt me the most were his words. Because as much as I wanted to tell myself he was only saying those things out of fear of losing Sideswipe, they hurt. They stung.

They felt like a sharp blade to the heart.

I thought that things were finally getting better, that I could move past my delirious fear of him. I thought that maybe I could actually find peace here, while I was away from my family.  But now, I didn't know where it was safer to be;  back in Washington where the risks of the Cons finding me again, or here, where I was being tormented by Sunstreaker.  I pulled myself into a tight ball, ignoring the slight ache from my arms and sides as I rocked myself gently.

That was when I heard the sounds of footsteps come running down the hall, and the sounds of both Cybertronian and Earth swearing.

"Charlie," A familiar voice gasped, "What the hell?!"

I knew that voice. My head snapped up as I wiped a tear from my cheek, "J-Jenna?"

It was Jenna, but Sideswipe's holoform was with her too. I panicked again, shaking my head as I tried to scoot away from them. I couldn't...I couldn't be hurt again.

"Charlie," Sideswipe said, his eyes wide with horror, "What happened to you? Are you okay?"

"No, please..." I said, still trying to back away. "I'm...I'm."

He didn't listen. Instead, he stooped down to pick me up, wrapping his arms beneath my thighs as he lifted me and I had no other choice but to hold on to his neck.

"She's shaking." Jenna noted, her face contorted into a look of worry.

"No." I mumbled weakly.

He shushed me softly, putting a gentle finger to my upper lip, "It's okay, everything's gonna be fine." He glanced up at Jenna, "Should I take her to Ratchet?"

"I don't know, what's wrong with her? Why was she crying?"

Sideswipe shook his head, "I don't know. C'mon, let's get you down to Ratchet's."

"No, Sides, please..." I tried again, struggling in his grip. I couldn't break free but the least I could do was stop him in his tracks.

"What Charlie, what is it?" By this point, he was beginning to sound frantic.

"I can't let him see this! You have to let me go!" I said.

"Let who see this?"

"Sunstreaker!" I exclaimed, "I can't Sideswipe, I just can't!"

"What is she talking about?" Jenna asked, but Sideswipe's mind seemed far away from our conversation now. Instead, his eyes darkened too, with an anger I'd never seen before. He had let me down easily, before marching in the opposite direction of the hall.

"Sides, wait! Where are you going?!" Jenna shouted.

He didn't even look back as he replied with a cold voice, "I'm gonna kill him."
