Problems From The Past [SLOW UPDATES]

Jesse's POV

I smiled, the soft grass swaying with the wind as Lukas and I walked through the forest. It felt good to get out and walk around peacefully, nothing on my mind, for once.

Lukas sighed from besides me, I looked over at him. His eyes were closed and he was smiling, clearly at ease, it made me happy to see him like this. He opened his eyes and looked my way and I quickly moved my gaze over to something else. I felt my cheeks heat up in embarrassment.

We continued to walk around for a while till we reached a clearing. There was a waterfall and a little lake at the bottom. There was grass everywhere and the sky was clear and blue. I smiled happy and joyful memories flood over me. This was the place I first met Rueben, this very waterfall. Rueben.. if I wouldn't have let go of him he could've survived. He would still be here to comfort me. But now he's gone because of me. I could feel a slight wave of sadness rush into me at the thought of Rueben.

"You ok Jesse?" I heard Lukas ask from besides me.

I sat down and nodded. "Just... miss him.. a lot.." I muttered, but Lukas heard me.

He wrapped an arm around my shoulder and hugged me for a moment. I felt a slight blush cross over my face and put my head on his shoulder, sighing.

"It wasn't your fault.. there was nothing you could do." Lukas whispers into my ear softly.

I close my eyes, the good times with Rueben replaying throughout my mind.

I sighed. I open my eyes and look at Lukas. He smiles at me and I return the smile and turn my attention back to the beautiful clearing.

I feel him remove his hand from around my shoulder and shuffle. I looked at him and he laughed nervously. I smiled and got up. I reached my hand out for him to grab it and he accepted it and I helped him up.

"We should probably head back." I said looking towards the forest.

"O-ok.." I could hear a hint of sadness in his voice, but he made his way back into the shady forest. I sighed and followed behind him.

Lukas POV

I really want to tell her but I'm just to afraid! What if she doesn't like me back? What if it ruins our friendship?! Oh gosh..... what do I do?!

While thinking about my MAJOR crush on Jesse I realized that I had begun to make my way into the forest again, heading back home with Jesse following behind. I smiled at the thought of Jesse. I have had a crush on her for a while now but I don't quite feel ready to tell her. Mostly because I'm afraid of what she will say or do after I confess.

I thought about doing it today but i don't think it would be the best time to do so. Especially because I can tell that something had been bothering her this morning. I don't know how, I guess I'm just good at these sort of things. I sighed and shook out my thoughts when I heard some humming nearby.

I curiously walked towards where I heard the voice, Jesse trailing behind, also aware of the humming. I quietly moved a tall thick bush out of my way and looked at the figure humming softly. There was a small stream lapping on the figures legs. I could tell that the person was a female and walked out into the open to try to see her better.

She quickly turned and looked at me, surprise written on her face. "Oh! Uh..er.. hi? Can I help you?" she asked raising an eyebrow at Jesse and I.

Jesse stepped forward a bit. " We heard your humming and wanted to come check it out. You ok? What are you doing way out here in the forest?"

The girl laughed, "Heh I'm not THAT far from the city. Its like... a mile away!" She rolled her eyes. "And I'm fine, thanks though." She grinned.

"Why were you humming? I mean not to be rude or anything but why and why out here?" I asked curiously.

She looked at me. "I hum to get my mind off things and I was out here because I don't want anyone disturbing me." She replied calmly.

"What's your name?" Jesse asked.

"Oh, right. I'm Sadie. I know you're Lukas.." she said pointing at me. "And you're Jesse." she said looking at Jesse. "You guys are part of the new order along with Petra, Axel, and Olivia.." she said smiling.

"And Ivor." Jesse added.

Sadie looked at us. " Oh so Ivor is with you guys too?" She spoke sighing while shaking her head. " You guys must be REALLY nice to be letting him in the order of the stone. Well anyways, it was nice meeting you guys." She said getting up.

I looked at her and nodded. "Yeah and sorry for bothering you." I replied smiling at her.

"It's fine. I had to head back anyways. Welp I'm outta here. See ya around!" She said walking off.

I turned and smiled at Jesse who had waved to Sadie. "She seems pretty nice." Jesse said looking off into the direction she walked off in.

" Yeah. I think it was weird when we brought up Ivor though, maybe it was just because he released a Witherstorm on the world but I don't know." I replied curiously.

"I think it's something more. Oh well we'll talk about it later, but for now lets focus on getting home." Jesse sighed and smiled my way, walking off.

I smiled and followed. I couldn't wait to get home.
