The worst part about having an injured foot wasn't about feeling helplessness, or sadness at not being able to walk around freely. Not being able to jump like a bunny at the littlest of the things like you normally would, or not being able to dance at a big event called West Gala like you have wanted to for a long time.

It was about feeling hurt as a small argument with your ever-loving boyfriend resonated in your ears, and not being able to fix anything, you sat like a dummy, while cheers from the crowd all around reverberated in the air.

Khushi felt for a change that if today there was an extempore competition happening and her topic was helplessness, then, she would have delivered a betterspeech than Arnav did, for she exactly knew how it felt.

Khushi sighed as she watched Arnav score one basket after another, as if he was effortlessly meant to be an ace in the sport of basketball.

The cheerleaders as well as the crowd went in frenzy, shouting for him, hooting and whistling at every basket he did, or so did anyone from their team.

Khushi felt this strong urge to run into the court and just throw her arms around him and kiss him like there's no tomorrow.

Although Payal had been giving her company since the match started, sitting beside her, it was only him who had captured Khushi's undivided attention.

From the past five minutes, even Payal was lost in her phone and she felt the boredom of sitting at the same place rise in her system. She watched her boyfriend be the center of attraction of a plethora of girls from the audience, and vehemently looked around, only to be shushed by her cousin.

"Stop being so jealous Khushi. ASR is the team captain and great at what he does, so the attention is pretty much obvious."

Payal said to her, in a mature tone.

Khushi looked at her for a second before realizing that her cousin sis was indeed correct. Nodding her head, she once again looked at the court.

"Ugh!"

Payal's monosyllable caught her attention.

"What happened?" Khushi asked her, looking at her suddenly distressed face.

"Nothing! Professor Roy has made a new deadline for the pattern analysis assignment. It's tonight!"

Khushi's eyes widened too, hearing the preponed deadline of the assignment.

No wonder Professor Roy was regarded as the Hitler of their department.

"Now what?"

Khushi asked, the tension leveling in her eyes.

"What can we do? We have to do it! But you don't worry, you are already not well. Let me finish the assignment first, and you can use it as a reference to finish yours. Okay? That would save time and also prevent your over-exceeding-by default stress levels!"

Payal replied, in that ever so loving sisterly tone, while Khushi chuckled and hugged her sideways.

"Thanks sis! What would I do without you?"

She dramatically uttered, making Payal amusedly roll her eyes and answer, "Dumbo! Stop being so dramatic! Now I need to go to the library to get the reference books. I'll be back soon. You will be all right?"

Although Khushi hated to be alone right now, she knew it would only be selfish on her part if she insisted Payal to stay. So without letting the worry lines show on her face, she said in an assuring tone to her sister, "Of course Payal! I'm not a kiddo! You go, I'll be right here."
