And that's what Sapna had done that day when she had decided to teach Khushi a lesson.
A lesson that would be a perfect punishment for her. She knew that with her tampered heels, Khushi's extremely swift dance moves will be halted and she would have a really bad fall.
Not only will that make NK angry at her for ruining the performance, but also make the department furious for ruining a golden chance of defeating the Science Stream.
She would get a big lesson as her fall during that Salsa act would leave her injured, humiliated, and disqualified. She would finally get to know what dejection actually means and how it feels when the limelight is taken away from you.
She had contemplated everything and was going to do what she had planned to do when suddenly the foamy substance on the corridor had caught her off guard and she had slipped.
She had cursed the house keeping staff of the college under her breath as they had mopped the flooring so carelessly that it was still soapy.
But even during then she didn't realize that it was only destiny's sign of telling her that what she was going to do with Khushi was not just terrible but also inhumane.
.
Her dress was dirty with that fall but to her surprise Lavanya had come to the rescue. Although she never liked that chick, she desperately needed to get her plan in action and for the same she had politely thanked Lavanya and asked her for a spare dress.
To her luck, she had got one and had immediately left the place to go to Khushi's dressing room and do what she needed to do.
She had felt flames of discontentment rise in her system when she witnessed Khushi perform on stage with NK without a single glitch. Every single time she completed her moves, Sapna felt someone mocking her, laughing at her sarcastically. The crowd had broken into applause and she only felt like breaking whatever she could have in front of her. But no matter what happened, she could not unfurl her charade, and so she had gone to Khushi with her other classmates to congratulate her after performance.
She was still perplexed how her plan could backfire when Khushi had herself spilled the beans saying how her dressing room was locked and she had worn Payal's heels for the performance.
She had felt an added tinge of envy towards her, because from what it seemed, Khushi Gupta was not just blessed when it came to the spotlight on her, but also a favorite child of that god up there, who had bestowed such an amazing luck on her that she escaped her treacherous plan.
But then that day god had been kind to her too. She had lost all hopes when it came to taking her revenge from Khushi when suddenly the news had broken that she had slipped from the grand staircase of the common hall and was injured. She had rushed to the spot immediately and watched her as Arnav took her away to the hospital, not before noticing that Khushi had worn the same heels she had tampered with.
She had felt the smell of extreme satiety hit her nostrils at that realization. Although the humiliation part was still not done, she was at least happy that now Khushi was in pain, a pain which according to her was nothing compared to what Khushi had given her in the last one year.
~
She was still in a dazzled state of mind when she saw him sitting in the empty library, with a big fat Physics book in his hand. The cold ambiance and the unexpected sight had made her slightly shiver before she took two steps ahead.
Her presence made him look up at her, his gaze no more focused on the thick book and she instantly felt conscious.
"Hey!"
