CHAPTER TWENTY-EIGHT — ( I'm sorry, but I don't feel the same about you. )

Evelyn and Thor stood in anticipation, hiding in the shadows while waiting for Malekith to make his presence known. Just as Evelyn was about to launch into a passionate defence of pineapples on pizza, Malekith suddenly appeared before them. In a swift and coordinated move, Thor took hold of Evelyn's waist and, wielding Mjolnir, soared into the sky with her. Hovering before Malekith, Thor brought them hurtling back to the ground, ready to confront him.
"You needn't have come so far, Asgardians! Death would have come to you soon enough," Malekith said.
"I'm not an Asgardian," Evelyn said.
"Not by your hand!" Thor said as they started walking up to him.
"Your universe was never meant to be. Your world and your family will be extinguished."
As Malekith unleashed the power of the Aether to attack the two, Evelyn conjured an ice wall to block the oncoming force. Undeterred, Malekith intensified the attack, sending it with even greater force, which ultimately knocked them off their feet. He sent the Aether their way again, and Evelyn put her hands up and blocked it again with her ice wall.
"You know, with all that power, I thought you would hit harder," Thor said.
"You had to say that," Evelyn mumbled.
Malekith began to use the Aether to attack them again, but Thor threw his hammer at him which threw Malekith across the ground, causing him to smash against the building. Thor used his hammer to fly him over to Malekith and all of the Dark Elves turned to Evelyn.
Evelyn swung her sword around in her hands. "This is going to be fun."
When one of the Dark Elves advanced on her, she swiped her sword in front of her, successfully killing him. Another one charged at Evelyn, but she kicked him in the midsection, knocking him back a bit before stabbing him. A whole bunch of them suddenly disappeared from beside Evelyn. She looked up at the tower and saw Jane waving at her. Evelyn sent her the thumbs up before running over to Thor and Malekith. She arrived just as Malekith knocked Thor back and charged at Malekith with as much force as she could. She kept fighting with her sword, only to be continuously stopped by the power of the aether.
Thor suddenly slammed down on Malekith, causing a ripple effect that shocked the ground and made the windows shatter. Evelyn took that opportunity to leap towards Malekith and tackle him to the ground, but neither of them landed on the ground. They appeared back onto Svartalfheim, rolling down a hill and into another portal, appearing back on Earth only to fall from the sky. Evelyn turned just in time to reach the ground, landing on her hands and knees. Thor flew to Malekith beside her, and the two disappeared into another portal. Evelyn paused and waited a few seconds for Malekith and Thor to appear beside her again. She quickly spun around and leapt towards Malekith, aiming for his stomach, which her sword seemed to go through. However, the Aether stopped any plans of injury and instead threw Evelyn back with a strong force.
