The Game of Cat and Mouse

"Close your eyes baby, okay?" Kai guided you to your bed.
"Why am I doing this again?" You sat and closed your eyes nonetheless.
"Because I have a present..."
He walked out of the room, but returned quickly.
"Kai?" "You can open your eyes now." He said eagerly.
You opened your eyes and almost lost it.
"Oh my god!" You reached out to pet the small creature in front of you.
"I got us a puppy! Surprise!!" He smiled as he placed the pup in your lap. You pet her soft coffee colored fur.
"She doesn't have a name yet, but I thought we could call her Donut, because look..." He turned her around and pointed at a small donut shaped area of white hair.
You laughed.
"She's so precious! Donut sounds like a great name." You said tickling her tummy." I can't believe you did this, I love you so much!" You kissed him and gave him a hug.
"You've been hinting at us getting a pet for a while now." He giggled.
"I thought, now would be the best time." You brought her up to Kai's face, where she merrily licked his cheek.
"Our baby loves you." You noted.
"I like the sound of that."
He said with a smirk.
"The sound of what?" You went back to playing with Donut.
"Our baby."
