"Y/n!" Your mom called from downstairs, most likely in the kitchen. You grunted and rolled out of bed. The sun shone brightly through your windows and you sighed, squinting. You definitely were not a morning person. You wiped the drool from the side of your face and walked down stairs. "Hi honey." your mom greeted you from the kitchen. She flipped a pancake set it down on your plate.
"Hi mom." You said sleepily. She turned and placed a hand on her hip.
"I would've thought you'd be more excited about your big day." She said expectingly. You looked up at her confused. "Auditions?" She said. You jumped up suddenly, almost knocking the plate off of the table. Your mom gave you a pointed glare.
"Sorry! Sorry, I have to get . . . ready." You raced up the stairs. You burst into your room, unable to wipe the smile off your face. Stranger Things was your favorite show an you were obsessed to say the least. You'd wanted to peruse acting since you were nine (now that you were going to be fourteen soon that was really an option) so, you decided to audition for season two. As excited as you were, you were hella nervous. You'd never been to an audition before. You had no clue what to wear or say. You looked at the clothes in your closet and groaned. After a while of picking through all of the clothes you owned, you decided on a pair of ripped black jeans and a long sleeve maroon sweater. You threw a on a gold necklace with a moon pendant and some ankle boots. You looked at yourself in the mirror. Not bad. After applying foundation and a bit of mascara, you head downstairs.
"How do I look?" You asked your mom. She turned and nodded her head approvingly. You grabbed your phone and ran to the car. You couldn't wait! What if you made it? That would be amazing. What if you didn't, and then you never got to meet the cast or . . As long as you did your best. Your mom slid into the drivers seat next to you and turned on the car.

You had a few more people in front of you. So far, a lady with her hair pulled into a sophisticated bun would step out of a room and call off a name and number. You were 234. It was crazy to think that there were more than 234 people auditioning for this part. Your nerves started acting up and your breathing grew shallow. It's okay. Just focus on your performance and you'll be fine, you reassured yourself. You shook your hands and twisted the mini ring on your wedding finger. You didn't remember putting it on but it must've been an instinct. After all, it was your lucky ring. The lady stepped back out of the room. She called another number. 233. You hadn't realized how quickly people had come and gone. The line shuffled and you stepped forward. A girl in front of you, presumably 233, walked into the room alongside the lady. You rocked back and forth on your heels. You'll be fine, You told yourself once more. You tried focusing on your surroundings. Only ten minutes later, the girl walked out, followed by the woman. She called out 234. You stepped up and through the door, leaving behind the sea of nervous girls. She led you down a short hallway and to a grey door. You just focused on the sound of her heels clicking against the tile floor. She opened the door and ushered you through. You stepped into a room ( where it was nine in the afternoon lol ) She turned to you and quietly wished you luck. With that, she shut the door, leaving you to the directors. And . . . . THE CAST. You tried not to squeal on the spot. You stepped up to the x sloppily formed by blue painters tape in the center of the room. This is it.

Finn's POV
I glanced up at the auditionee? Actress? I guess she wasn't an actress yet. It didn't really matter. She fiddled with a ring on her finger.
"Y/n Y/L/N?" They asked politely.
"That's me!" She chuckled nervously. I really liked her laugh. It was . . . Different.
"Glad to hear that." Matt Duffer responded. "Well, if you wouldn't mind, we'd like you to read the highlighted section." I groaned under my breath. I'd heard this scene a million times. They ask every girl to read it. The part when mike is interrogating eleven soon after they find her in the woods. I put my head in my hands. She begins shakily and gets more and more comfortable. She reads it with emotion too. She's actually pretty good. Her confusion seems genuine, which might just be because of the nerves that come along with an audition, but either way the judges liked her too.
After she finished. The whole room applauded her. "That was fantastic!" Ross said. She smiled widely. Her smile was really cute too. What is going on? Stop being so sappy Finn, she's just another girl. "Finn, would you mind reading with y/n for the second half of her audition." Second half? We hadn't done this before. Either way, the Duffers probably had a plan so I just nodded and picked up the script they had laid down on the table. I stood up and walked to the middle of the room. I handed one to her. I know I could call her y/n but it seems weird without being properly introduced. She took it and smiled. I did the same.
"Hi." She said so quietly, I'm sure no one else heard it.
"Hey." I said back, equally as quiet.
"Whenever you're ready!" Matt said. I flipped the page, scanning the scene. This was the one where they have a talk about privacy. I started with the scene. We went through the script and I 'explained' privacy to her. She nodded. I was kind of at a loss. I didn't want to embarrass myself but, there was no door or room. I pretended to close a door. It was a bit awkward considering there wasn't an actual door there. She broke character for a second, and giggled, and I smirked. Suddenly her emotion changed and she started at me intently.
"No." She said sternly.
"You don't want the door closed?" I read. She shook her head. "What about. . ." I trailed off and pretended to partially close the door. "We keep it like this?" She nodded.
"Wait wait! Stop right there!" Matt yelled. She turned suddenly and jumped a bit.
"Sorry, sorry. . I " he cut her off.
"No no kid, you were great." People frantically searched for her headshots and information. "I think you should give us a call, let's see when you can come in. Tomorrow? Does that work? Yeah, great." He said without waiting for her to respond. She just nodded her head frantically. She was pretty adorable, I had to admit. The duffers wrote down their personal number and sent her out. Before she left, she turned and waved goodbye. I waved back and smiled. She turned and followed the secretary down the hall. I stood, watching the door close before finally turning around and heading back to my seat. I slid into my chair next to Noah.
"You okay there, Finlard?" Gaten asked, chuckling. I shook my head and put my hand on my cheek because it felt a bit hot.
"W-why do you ask? I-I'm fine." Noah turned towards me.
"Ya sure buddy? You look a little red." He laughed. Millie giggled.
"Little Finnie has a crush!" She shouted. "I love being match maker!" I turned to her, embarrassed.
"What? No, Mills. No no matchmaking. I don't like her." They all mumbled.
"Okay, Finn."
