I watched as Caspiry angrily limped out of the courthouse. The trial was taking a short recess while the jury comes up with a verdict and Streuds lawyer paraded around as if he had already won.

I took a deep breath and rubbed a rough hand over my face, I should go after him. 

Taking a quick glance over at Streud I felt myself turn to stone, she was so cocky. The way she smirked at me said that she feels this case is done. Oh honey, if you only knew the truth. This was only the beginning. If they won't give her jail time then I'll make sure she's too scared to leave the house. She raised her hands and wiggled her fingers at me before sending me a kiss. I smiled back before getting up, smoothing out the pants of my suit and fixing the cuffs of my crisp white shirt under my navy blue jacket. Just because I'm taking a wild bitch down doesn't mean I can't stay classy. I walked pasted our parents and my beautiful Jamie. She didn't understand what was going on but she knew her daddy wasn't okay.

I swiftly walked out of the courthouse, throwing both doors open because I'm a diva and everyone should know to stay out of my way. I found Caspiry leaning on the wall outside the building breathing heavily. I don't know how to comfort  him anymore, before all of this I could hold him until  it all went away but how do I hold him close without touching the scar on his mid-section or one of his bruises or broken bones? How do I hold him if he doesn't want to be held anymore?

At the end of the day, I know when push comes to shove he'll run back into my arms but I don't want him to only come to me when things are at their worst. I'm his husband, I should be there for him always. I should be the one he wants to hold after getting something as small as a slight itch, not only when his head is drowning in his hearts tears. 

Instead of sweeping him into my arms like I would any other time, I stood next to him. I kept my arms at my side and as I hoped he rolled into my chest. He sighed.

"What more do they want? They have video evidence, they saw my scar, my pregnancy test results, they saw the car, they saw my medical aid claims, the insurance-"

"We're going to win this case baby" I hushed him.

"But why is she acting like you're the one who's facing jail time then?"

"Because in her mind the injustice was done to her but luckily in the real world everyone can see her pitchfork and horns." He cracked a smile at me, a small one but a smile all the same. After all this time him simply moving the one side of his mouth slightly up made my heart hurt. He truly is my everything. It makes my insides shiver, it makes me want to hold him and be held by him until the end of forever. It reminds me of my deep love for him and makes me want to be with him always.

"It's just not right you know?" he asked taking a step back out of my arms and bumping into a stranger.

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry" the man- no kid said quickly, "are you okay?" there was an awkward exchange of touching going on as both guys made sure the other was okay. They weirdly patted each other apologising profusely to one another.

I watched the awkward hand dance, mostly the kids but not for too long because he hastily walked away.

"Weird" Caspiry said running his hands through his hair then down his body and onto the back pockets of his snazzy maroon pants. He quickly patted his ass and his eyes widened with each pat. "My wallet!"

It took a minute for my brain to register what happened but I knew I was running after a kid who just bumped into my husband. I chased him down and grabbed him by the hood of his sweatshirt making him fall because his legs continued to run from me.
